What should DH and I wear to a beach wedding??

We have a wedding coming up and the ceremony is on the beach and then the reception is in a really nice country club. Should he still wear a suit??

As for me I have several dresses... a few cotton smocked tube dresses (one is black and the other is cobalt blue) or I have a paisley spagetti strap maxi dress that is slightly dressier than the other two... I also have all sorts of short cotton sun dresses...All of which I plan to wear with my fave Jack Roger flip flops!

What would you wear and what should DH wear??

  • Ahhh...yes of course, time comes into play...5pm
  • I'd wear the dressier dress you mentioned, and for DH, a nice shirt and tie.

    Ditto.

Now that I have helped you  I have to figure out what to wear to the one I am attending this weekend lol.

  • I'd wear the maxi dress if I were you. And I would wrangle DH into a lighter colored suit with a casual and light colored buttond down shirt w/o a tie. That way he can just wear the nice shirt and pants outdoors but have a jacket if the tone is more formal inside. Its hard with beach weddings-sometimes the wedding party is so casual that you can easily dress fancier than them! You could always just ask the bride, which may be a safer bet.

exactly this! I have been to both formal and casual beach weddings..... but with the reception at a country club, Id expect formal.
