Too Close?!

My H and I are from a very small farming community and expecting our first at the end of the week and the boy name we had picked out is Dane.  Anyways, another family, who we're not close friends with, but go to the same church as and have mutual friends with, had their baby just a couple weeks ago and ended up naming thier baby Zane. The problem I'm having is that our kids will be in the same class at school through graduation and will likley end up on the same sports teams or groups all through their growin up years. I just want to know what the general opinion is ... are Dane and Zane too close for kids born within 2 weeks of eachother and who will end up growing up together?

    No, I wouldn't think that at all. Jaime and Jamie maybe, but not Dane and Zane.

    Don't worry about it. Name your kid what you want. (and I think Dane is much better than Zane anyway :)

    I can see how it could be confusing if they are in the same class, but if you are set on the name then use it. If not, consider it as a middle name and pick a new first name.
