Diagnose me, please!

Okay so...I have this tightness/pain that goes from my sternum all the way around the right side of my body to the middle of my back. All through out the night I had what felt like a gas bubble below/inside my right shoulder. It was super hard to sleep. This morning I took 2 tums thinking it was gas and then it kind of spread to what I am feeling now (tightness/pain that goes from my sternum all the way around the right side of my body to the middle of my back). Its better when I am sitting down but when I stand up and walk around its a little hard to breathe.

Is this just gas? Could it be heartburn? I don't think I have ever had heartburn. It does not feel like indigeston to me.

Any ideas? Remedies?

heart burn actually feels like a ball of fire inside your stomach so i dont think its that. either way call your dr and i hope you feel better. could the baby be stuck in one side of your body? mady was stuck to my ribs for a good 2 days and it hurt!

Call the dr. I know when I was pregnant with alexis and was going into l&d every 2 weeks for monitoring that was one of the pains they always asked me about - every time. i never had it so I don't know what it is, but they asked me each and every time if I had pain there.

that type of pain can be a few things, but i know that i was being monitored for that pain because of pre-eclampsia. but i know that pre-e isn't just one symptom, you have to have a few for it to be that.... let the dr know if you have headaches, heartburn (the burning in the chest/stomach) or blurry vision.

Maybe your gallbladder? I had a super tight feeling under my right rib that would wrap around to the middle of my back....but the doctor said it was normal...some days it was really bad and other days, nonexistant. Hope you feel better!

Just in case its gas, I am having some hot tea. If it does not go away by lunchtime I am going to call my doc. Thanks for the input ladies! It does not feel serious....just uncomfortable. I will definitely play it safe if the tea does not help.

I don't have any personal experience with this but when Ihave heartburn it's not like a ball of fire in my tummy, it hurts all over and sometimes is even makes me vomit! I swear by the TUMS powder, I love them! I wish you were closer I would you bring you one since it would not hurt to try.

I say gas. I ended up in the ER about a month ago with terrible pain like that. The doctors were ready to to diagnose me with stones! Ended up being gas.

Jeez, poor you! I would definitely call the doctor, especially since you had food poisioning last week! It could just be gas or maybe acid reflux - it sounds like gas to me, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Oooh Mel, hope you get some answers and feel better! It can be gas, gallbladder, rib inflammation (from being preggers and carrying a 2 yr old), and other things....keep us posted and take care!
