Stay at Home Moms

being sick stinks...

when you are the one home all day with LO. First off, I feel like crap and can barely take care of myself. Secondly, I so do not want to get LO sick...I am trying to touch her as little as possible but I would say that's pretty hard considering I am with her all day! I just want someone to take care of me!!!

Re: being sick stinks...

  • That is so hard!  I'm so sorry you're not feeling well.  I remember venting that it "sucks to be a SAHM when you're sick" on another board and I got reamed!  So, I totally get it, and you're perfectly allowed to vent.  Feel better and I hope your little girl is cooperative for her mommy today.  :)

  • I feel ya!  It is so HARD! I just said the other day that I wished people would not come and visit when the new baby comes home but when we all get sick instead! LOL

We are going on 3 weeks of being sick in this house... DD started off with a cold 2 weeks ago that turned RSV and then bronchiolitis... then DH got sick with the same cold and now - 2 weeks later they are both doing better and now I am really sick! I got meds last night and am hoping I start to feel better soon!

It is ROUGH! It is hard not to touch her but just wash your hands a lot and try not to kiss her more than anything...

    Hope you feel better soon!

  • That is definitely one of the downsides to SAH -- no sick days for you!

Take care of yourself the best that you can.  Your child won't suffer if you have a couple of really low interaction days.

  • We had this problem bad last month.  I had strep twice and then mono.  It was really bad.  I have to say, DS watched a ton of Elmo, way more than I would like him to, but I had to do something with him all day.  And when he napped, I did too.  Thankfully I only have one to worry about and he napped pretty well for me.

I hope you feel better soon.
