Trader Joe's sells a great inexpensive cabernet sauvignon called Trellis. I haven't bought it in, oh, about 7 months, ha ha, but if I'm remembering correctly, it's about $6 or $7 a bottle.

Santa Margherita Pinot grigio is one of my faves, but that is about $20. I also love sauvignon blancs from the Marlborough region of New Zealand - I can find one for about $12 - $15
For red, I am currently loving Marques de Riscale Rioja, that is about $13 I think
Polka Dot Rieisling. It is about 12 dollars a bottle. I can find it at most grocery stores.
If I can't find that, then I will drink Relax Riesling, which is about 10/11 bucks at Walmart and Target.
I like both of these also - but I have found them at our local grocery for around 8 or 9 dollars a bottle. Same for Chateau St. Michelle Riesling - about $8. I also like Gewurztraminer - another sweet white wine, also under $10. Those are my go to wines that I usually have on hand for me.

I love Santa Margherita when I'm in the mood for pinot grigio (which is usually only once in a while in the summer). When we were in Positano a few years ago, they had it at the local market for about $5 a bottle. I wanted to stock up our suitcase, but DH talked me out of it. LOL

This. Gewurztraminers can be a little harder to find, but is a favorite of DH's and mine, along with reislings. There are many types of reisling, and many are not typically too pricey and can be found anywhere.
Re: Favorite Wine?
My "go to" wines are as follows:
Cavit Pino Grigio
Blackstone Merlot
They're not the best wines I've ever had, but they are good as "standard" drinking and cooking wines. I think they're around $10-$12 a bottle........
The merlot is one of the few reds in its price range that doesn't give me a huge headache.
Mmmm...wine.

Gnarly Head old vine zinfandel, about 13 a bottle.
I dunno, I like reds and I like this one. I'm not a wine snob.
