UGH! Everything is either overpriced or makes me look like a flowing tablecloth. Where can I find a cute fitted top and skirt?! For not a ton of money??!
I found a nice dress at Kohl's for under $30 in the non-maternity section. I think it was apt. 9 and they had many different styles and colors....and they all looked nice.
I'm no help with the skirt, but I bought a mod-style dress at BCF that is not maternity but works great. I just went a few sizes bigger than usual, and since it's not fitted at all, it doesn't matter. Might be worth a shot--good luck!
Try looking at regular dresses, you may find something that works! I had a wedding to go to and found a lot of empire-waist, knee-length dresses out there, non-maternity. I ended up getting a Nine West one from Macy's that was on sale for like $40.
I found some cute dresses at Target in the regular woman's department that were priced pretty well. Wal-Mart online also had some cute items. Old Navy also has some cute stuff. GL
I am a fan of Burlington Coat Factory. I found two dresses in the regular dress area. One is long and fitted--shows off belly. The other is shorter and loose, but very flattering. Good luck!
I found a cute non-maternity dress at Fossil for $30. I'll be wearing it for maternity pics and my second shower. Plus, I'll be able to have it tailored post-baby to wear even more
?I bought two cute dresses (non-maternity) for 20 bucks each in the junior section of TJ Maxx. ?They are soft and stretchy material with empire waist. ?I just bought them 2 sizes larger than normal and they looked really great!

I did the exact same thing. I recommend any wrap style dress, rather than something very loose and flowy. The tied part highlights the waist right above the belly and makes you look smaller. I'm still avoiding maternity clothes at all costs because I haven't found anything in the maternity section that I think is flattering on me. Most of the maternity clothes make me look bigger and accentuate the belly. Plus, if you buy a wrap style dress you'll be able to use it post partum and while breastfeeding.
I got my shower dress at motherhood and LOVE it! it is so comfortable and I got so many compliments on it! it definitely didn't make me feel like a fat cow, like most of them did! (picture is in my siggy!)
