I am very tired of people giving their opinion about my pregnancy and what I should be doing or not doing. My boyfriend and I rented some movies today because we are passing the time until I start my induction on Wednesday and then go into the hospital on Thursday. My boyfriend put his status on FB as "so Jenna and I rented 9 movies to watch this week while we pass the time waiting for Emily to be born. We are watching Edge of Darkness right now and it is pretty awesome." and my cousin wrote "Heck with watching movies-GET YOUR SLEEP!!!!!!!!" This is about the 5th or 6th time she has commented on something we were doing and told us we need to rest while we can because having a baby is hard. (only not so polite) I realize that having a baby is hard. I realize that I won't sleep much at all. I don't need a constant reminder and for the most part I sleep very well! What should I do? Sleep all day and do nothing? I think she will be going on the hide list on FB.

Re: Tired of people giving their two cents...
Exactly... I have to pee like 10 times a night!
My boyfriend said he is going to comment her back with a picture of Clive Owen from the movie I'll Sleep When I am Dead. haha.

Haha. That is great! I am going to tell her that.

I hate these comments, too. I also hate being reminded of all the things I "won't be able to do" when the baby comes. I get that the baby will rearrange our lives, but it's not as if I'll never leave the house, go the gym, or sleep again--which is what everyone seems to make it sound like.
Agreed about the sleep you get in the third tri. WHAT sleep? I'm up and peeing every hour and a half. Literally. And yes, I do cut off my water later at night. Doesn't matter.
Do what the heck you wanna do and just ignore her. In her mind, she's trying to help. Just remember that and don't get too worked up about it. Enjoy your movies!
This. Between getting up four times a night to pee, the ridiculous back pain that wakes me up every time I move in bed, the heartburn that has me popping Tums at 3am, and the insomnia that thinks it's my BFF several times a week, I'm not sure that a good night's sleep is in my near future. I say, enjoy your movie marathons!

Don't take it so literally. I used to get all worked up over this to- like, what- I'm supposed to just have narclepsy and sleep whenever?
Then I had DD and I understood what everyone meant. The sleep thing drastically changes- for good. 2.5 years later and I still haven't set my alarm or slept past 6:00am.
Take it to mean "lay in bed and do nothing. Watch movies in bed. Doze off, order to-go, read in bed"
SO true. I hated when people told me that, and when they tell other people that simply to instill fear in them. It's a load of crap! DH and I managed to do all kinds of the same things we used to do, with DD in tow! It'll be more difficult now with the twins as well, but only as difficult as we allow it to be. We certainly don't need to be "told." And as for sleep... contrary to popular belief, a lot of newborns sleep a LOT!!!
