Have you tried those As Seen On TV green bags? Ive been dying to try but I always forget to get them...I hear good things!
Have them & LOVE them! They really do work wonders. Especially bananas, they seem to turn so fast & we never eat them in time. I get them to where I want them, then stick them in the bag & they last a long time!
I don't refrigerate any of those things (except if I've cut part of an onion, then it goes into the fridge in a bag).
I HATE cold fruit. DH loves it, however, so it's an ongoing battle. I unload the groceries, so I decide!
I don't like the texture of refrigerated bread. And don't bananas turn brown in the fridge? I only buy about 3 at a time since DD is the only one who eats them - I'm allergic and they're pretty sugary for my diabetic DH.

I used to put oranges in the fridge but I have started leaving them out so the kids can grab one if they want it. I don't put anything else from the list in the fridge. Why does everyone put tortillas in the fridge? I treat them like bread.
I am weird about fridge/freezer food. I don't freeze bread or meals that have already been cooked. Food out of the freezer freaks me out because I feel that people think it lasts forever if it is frozen. DH won't eat leftovers so I try to buy fresh and only cook enough for that meal.
Growing up my mom put maple syrup and peanut butter in the fridge. I did it without thinking about it and DH thought that was crazy. I have no idea why she did it.
with the exception of if the tortillas were found in the fridge section and/or after they are open = fridge and once the onions, oranges or avocado are cut = fridge.
I only put bread in the fridge if there's a good sale and I buy two loaves at once.. then I put one in the fridge until we use it.
everything in the pantry except tortillas once they're opened (since that's what it says to do on the bag).
I've always heard that putting bread in the fridge makes it go stale faster. My mom always put bread in the fridge and I hated it. I like how soft bread is when it stays out.

-bananas - hanging basket-avocados - fridge (unless it needs to ripen fast, then it's a brown paper bag on the counter)-oranges - fridge-bread - pantry + freezer-tortillas - pantry + freezer-onions - hanging basket
Everything but the tortillas is on the counter (I have a fruit bowl and a bowl for onions and garlic). I keep tortillas in the fridge because they are refrigerated in the store- I've never even checked to see if they need to be! When we are ready to use them, I warm them up in the oven. I don't eat bread but DH does and he keeps it in the fridge or else it would get moldy before he could finish it. He just toasts it before making a sandwich on it.
