Those with girls. Diaper rash question.

I just changed DD's diaper & she pointed to her vaginal area & said booboo. So I moved the skin back & sure enough it's all red & up near the top part, the hood, it's got red bumps & a couple open blister like sores. I'm going to take her to the pedi tomorrow to get it checked. I just wonder if anyone has seen this? There are no bumps or rash anywhere else in that area. I feel so bad for her.

 Could it be a yeast infection?

    Oh, poor sweetheart that is awful!

    Yes, it could be yeast, could also be a bacterial infection. Your pedi will fix her right up, I hope she gets better soon!

    dd has gotten some horrid rashes but they are always much more widespread than what you are describing....good luck at the pedi, I hope she is feeling better soon!

    My DD had yeast on the sides when we went to the 12 month visit. She ordered prescription nystatin cream and it was gone in a day.

    Thats what I think it might be. A yeast infection. Well at least I hope it is. She's had a yeast infection before but it was like PP said, it was more wide spread. I put bacitracin on it tonight before she went to bed. Hopefully that will help it a little.
