Why grocery shopping with DH doesn't usually work...

He never wants to go grocery shopping with me, and I'm fine with that, but we had a few errands to run this morning and I wanted to run into Safeway for Kashi and grapes, so the three of us went together.

I had my Kashi coupons all ready, and DH said "Oh, I need deodorant."  I explained that we shouldn't buy it at the grocery store because I can get it for a lot less at Rite Aid (next door to Safeway) with a sale and coupon.  He said "let's just use the coupon here, I don't feel like going next door."  So we did, and we spent $8 for two sticks ($4.50 each before coupon!), which seemed ridiculous to me.  I then saw the Rite Aid ad when I got home where it was on sale 2 for $5.  With the coupon they would have been $2 each.  *sigh*

  • This is where I'd just return it on my own, and then buy them at Rite Aid, even without the coupons.

  • I never go to Rite Aid, and I'm definitely not making a special trip for a few dollars.  I just thought it was so typical that the one time I decide not to put up a fight about it, it turns out I was right.  Oh well.  :-)
