I went for my 16 week checkup Friday and wasn't expecting any problems. I haven't had any morning sickness, food cravings or aversions, or anything unpleasant. So I was hoping to hear the heartbeat and go on my merry way. But the doctor couldn't initially find the baby's heartbeat, just mine, and I started stressing out. They did an ultrasound and everything looked OK...the baby was moving and we could see the flutter of the heart. The heartbeat she thought she heard earlier, turned out to be the baby's. She also said the baby is breech.
Even though the baby was fine, I'm still worried. Has anyone else had this happen to them? And she didn't seem concerned about the breech position. I'm assuming there is still plenty of time for the baby to turn, right?
Re: Stressful Dr. Visit
Caroline was "frank" breach (butt down, legs around her head), up until about 28 wks. I could feel her turn around....it was a really odd experience! Your LO has plenty of time to turn.
Sorry the beginning of the appt. was stressful!
Aubrey used to play games with my doctor to find her heartbeat...he'd have to chase her around with the doppler...I wouldn't be worried about it..you saw the heartbeat and the baby moving so everything is fine...they can just be stubborn sometimes
Also the baby has plenty of time to turn, and he/she might changed positions a couple more times before you deliver.
Sorry it was so stressful though...hopefully your future appointments will be better
I'm sorry LO is being difficult.
Miss C is a trouble maker when I'm at the drs office. I've gotten 2 extra ultrasounds thanks to a bleeding scare and her playing hide and seek with the doppler.
She is also breech, and has been since 12 weeks. My dr. said he's not concerned about her being breech until 36 weeks. If she still hasn't moved, then we will start talking about a c/s.
I had an appointment where we couldn't find the heartbeat. Of course, it was one of the few that my husband didn't go to. I was almost in tears and trying so hard not to freak out. The ultrasound showed everything was ok.
I'm sorry you had to go through that. I know how scary it is. Unfortunately, the stressing over every little thing doesn't go away. It gets worse once they are actually here! ;o)
Hope all of your other appointments go smoothly!
