only 1 day of heavy bleeding? Is that it?

We found out our baby stopped growing at 7W 4D. I was supposed to be 10 weeks. Doc gave us the option of a D&C or waiting it out. I wanted to wait it out because I have had a D&C before and I don't want another one. Not because it's bad, just because I don't want it. So I started lightly spotting thursday afternoon, it got redder on Friday and then overnight on Friday into Saturday very heavy. I had minor cramping yesterday and was passing larger clots and bleeding heavily for a few hours. Then it lightened up. Right now it's just red, no clots and seems to be lightening up. Is this it???? Or is my body just not passing everything? I'm so scared I'm going to end up having the D&C. :(

I took a HPT today hoping it would say not pregnant and it still says pregnant. Stupid to do I know but I just was hoping this was over. Anyone else have a missed miscarriage and have the "bad part" last only over 24 hours?

    That's how it was for me with my first m/c. The baby grew to 6w4d and I was supposed to be 9w1d. I bled heavily from 11pm-5am and it was only light before and after. 

    It can take quite a while for your levels to go below 25 (typical HPT sensitivity) Mine finally got to 0 last week but the u/s confirmed everything was out 2 days after the m/c (and levels that day were in the 600's)

    I don't know if what I said helped, but I wanted to tell you there is no "normal" to a m/c. But I have experienced what you described.

    thank you noah bear. that does help! I plan to call my doctor tomorrow and I'm sure he'll want to run bloodwork or do an u/s. He was giving me only one week to have things happen naturally before he did a D&C. I'm glad things happened (well relatively speaking) on their own. I just am hoping this is it. My last m/c was in March of 08 and it was very early on and I don't remember how long the bleeding lasted. I guess I just expected more bleeding and cramping. Although I was getting scared yesterday because the bleeding was so heavy for a while. I just feel like it would be better for my body to just let things happen on their own. I have had a D&C before and I know it's not bad and the risks are low but I just didn't want a 2nd one, you know?
