teething ='s cough?

DS is working on his 5th tooth, an incisor and he's developed a really raspy cough just yesterday. The tooth is showing quite a bit but still working on coming out fully. He's never had a cough with teething before.

If your LO had a cough that was teething related, what was it like? His is wet & raspy and is keeping him from going down to sleep tonight. Gave him some motrin (generic) and am hoping that helps him rest. poor little bean.

Re: teething ='s cough?

  • I could have written this!  My DS is also getting his 5th tooth on the top and has been coughing the last few days, but mostly when he is sleeping at night.  His cough sounds like it is in the chest but it hasn't prevented him from falling asleep, I think maybe between the runny nose and drool it's making him wake up?  We haven't had a fever at all.

  • LO is getting his first two teeth (they've broken through but have not risen up) for the past 2 weeks!  He has a constant wet cough and runny nose which I attribute to his over abundance of drool running down his throat.
  • poor kiddos. no fever here either. It's just weird that his first 4 teeth he barely drooled and never coughed.
  • DS has 6 teeth and a couple of weeks ago developed a runny nose which I assumed was from more teething. When he developed a cough I took him to the ped (it was his first cough and I just wanted to have him checked). It turned out to be an ear infection causing the congestion and cough.
