Re: Sleep questions for 2m old Moms

  • DD goes to bed between 9:30 and 10:00 at night.  We are extremely lucky and she sleeps in her crib in her room at night for 11-12 hours straight. We still swaddle in a regular blanket but keep her arms out because she likes it better.  We slowly moved to the arms out.  We just got her out of our room about 3 weeks ago where she was sleeping in a bassinet.

  • What time does LO go to bed for the night?

She puts herself to sleep about 8-8:30, sometimes 7:30 when she is done cluster feeding at 7.

    How long does LO sleep?

She is about 6-7 hours at night; normally wakes around 3-4 for her night time bottle with daddy.

Are you still getting up to feed & when?

    See above

    Are you swaddling?

Nope. She doesn't like it and kicks the covers off her as well.

Is LO sleeping in their own room now or still with you (if applicable)?

Not yetl still in PNP in our room. Goal is to have her in her crib by 3m though. DH is the one who is not ready to make the transition and I am not going to rush him.

What time does LO go to bed for the night? 10p-11p

How long does LO sleep? 8,5 hours (with a dream feeding at 2am, otherwise she wakes me at 3am)

Are you still getting up to feed & when? Just at 2am to give her a dream feeding

Are you swaddling? from her armpits down, yes. She kicks blankets off and likes to sleep with her fists up by her ears so its a nice compromise.

Is LO sleeping in their own room now or still with you (if applicable)?
For now my room doubles as a nursery because we only have one available bedroom so she'll be sleeping in our room til we move out of this house or til DH and I make the livingroom double as our bedroom. haha But she's always slept in her crib except the few times we fell asleep on mommy's bed.

  • What time does LO go to bed for the night? 8ish

How long does LO sleep? Up every 2.5 hours.

Are you still getting up to feed & when? Yes, every 2.5 hours.

    Are you swaddling? Yes

Is LO sleeping in their own room now or still with you (if applicable)? They sleep in their crib.

  • Jack usually goes down between 9 and 11, and sleeps until 7 - 9 am. No getting up for feedings anymore, he started STTN right at the 8 week mark. We do swaddle, but will be deswaddling as soon as he shows signs of readiness. We don't have a nursery, so Jack is with us, in a PnP. He sleeps on the opposite wall now though, not right next to our bed anymore.

What time does LO go to bed for the night?  About 10:00.

How long does LO sleep? Between 1.5 and 2 hours...

Are you still getting up to feed & when?  Yup, all night..  Every hour and a half.

Are you swaddling? Yup, full tight swaddle.

Is LO sleeping in their own room now or still with you (if applicable)? She sleeps in her bouncer with me or DH on the couch a foot away.  We haven't even been able to consider the PnP or crib at this point.

    .
  • It still varies, but around 8pm, give or take

Again it varies. She's had a couple of STTN nights, but they're still occasional. I'd say about 6-7 hours, then eat, then another 4

If she doesn't STTN, she's up around 3-4am

Nope. DD busted out of her swaddle her second night home and hasn't looked back

We have a sitting room directly off of our bedroom. Her crib is in there. It's the best of both worlds--she has her own space, but she's no more than 3 feet way from our bed if we need to get her.

  • it`s complicated for us right now because my husband works overnights and his schedule alternates--hopefully it`ll be a little more sane by the time she needs a routine! but we go down anywhere from 930 to 1130, and she sleeps between 3 and 5 hours; although last night she was back to every two on the dot, for some reason. we don`t swaddle because she stopped liking it at about a week old. she`s been sleeping in our bed next to me--this was not the plan and i hope to transition her back to her co-sleeper over the next month to make it easier for her to then move into her own room. but she has acid reflux, too, so if your `lo` does too don`t forget that pushes all the sleep stuff back a bit. :)
  • i am 1ht

  • What time does LO go to bed for the night?  We do his bath at 8. Then we feed him, and that usually takes 30 mins. We hold him (reflux) for 10-15 mins, and then swaddle. I hold him until he's asleep, which is usually around 9:30.How long does LO sleep? The last week or two, he's been going until 4 or 5am. The earliest is 3am. Then he usually goes 3-4 hours after he goes back down. Are you still getting up to feed & when?  Yes- usually 3-5am (just depends). Are you swaddling? yes, woombie! We were doing a blanket swaddle, but he started breaking free. Then we went to the Swaddle Me, but he hates having his arms straight down. He seems to like the Woombie for most of the night. Is LO sleeping in their own room now or still with you (if applicable)?  He sleeps in his FP Rock and Play in our room, but no longer right next to our bed. We plan on trying to move him into his own room next week.
