WDYT of this "big boy" bedding?

We're wanting to get a comforter set that can grow with him, so we don't want a "theme" set. However, he wants cars and trucks in his room. So, I was thinking of doing a generic bedding and putting wall stickers and other decor with cars and trucks. WDYT of this?image

  • I think it's too busy for the bedding.  don't get me wrong... I like the pattern. I have a painting that is similar but different colors... but I prefer a more subtle comforter and then maybe that pattern as artwork or accent pillows or something else.
  • Loading the player...
  • I agree with Halo. The comforter kind of makes me dizzy. Rory has simple bedding and Dora stickers and such on her wall.
  • I like the bedding, but would prefer for just accent pieces in that pattern and a solid comforter.
  • Thanks all!  I've actually changed my mind, again, since posting this.  Someone brought up the point that he's a small one for a short time, so I should get him something fun and young.  AND, he'll likely ruin whatever I get him *jumping, playing on it, etc*, so it probably won't last more than a year or two anyway.

So, I think I'm getting him the Dwell for Target Vehicles bedding: (they have the full size in our store)

ditto.   put a couple of solid color accent pillows on it.  too cute

  • The car bedding is really cute.  I prefer to spend less on bedding and replace it often so the Target bedding is perfect.

I really like the 2nd one.  Also a thought, what I did for DS's "big boy room" was to do really fun Dr. Suess sheets and then we have a plain comforter.  There is a Dr. Suess sham so you get the hint of his bedding when the bed is made and then went with Dr.Suess characters on the walls and some paintings.  He finds it so amusing that his sheets are like this little secret, hiding under the plain comforter and that they match the rest of what's going on in his room.  I see trucks or firehouse as our next theme and it will be really easy to just switch out the sheets and pull down the stickers, put up new stickers and voila new room.
  • I like the second bedding too.  I can tell you that the Target bedding holds up pretty well too.
