so i was told by many of my friends/family who have had kids that they did their hair and makeup before going into L&D. and i also saw Kourtney Kardashian (keeping up with the kardashians, yes i watch it :P) she did the same thing.
whos going to be doing their hair and makeup for LO's birthday?
I can't imagine wearing makeup while hot/sweaty and pushing LO out, I'ld rather have a fresh clean face.
Re: makeup & hair for L&D?
This!
Oh dear lord! This will be the least of my concerns!
I will ask for a touch-up just prior to when family comes in to visit and minimal pics. That is, if DH isn't so proud that he takes a million horrible photos at all of the wrong times.

I won't bother with makeup for L&D but will definately slap on some quickly for pictures/visitors afterwards. My hair isn't really an issue- I packed a headband to toss in to keep it out of my face.
If I have time, I may shower, simply because who knows how long it will be until I get another one.
As far as makeup, eh, I don't wear that much anyway, mostly mascara and lipgloss....which can be applied before pictures are taken.

Hmmm. With DS1 I was like hell no. But I rarely wear makeup or do anything special to my hair anyway.
This time I'm having a scheduled c-section, so maybe I'll put some makeup on first. I'm not sure. It won't be at the top of my priority list, but it would be nice to look halfway decent for photos after the birth and I'm sure I won't feel like it after I get out of surgery. We'll see.

After my water broke with DS I took a shower (it was first thing in the morning and shower time for me anyway) and I did my hair (well, blew it out and did my everyday hair). I didn't put makeup on.
This baby will be a scheduled c-section. I am planning to do my everyday hair and some light makeup prior to the surgery, but I haven't looked through my hospital requirements yet though and I know some don't like makeup, so we'll see about that...I WILL be doing my everyday hair though.
I think I've always made sure I was presentable when going to the hospital.
That being said, I always let my hair air dry (unless for a special occasion) and my make-up process is VERY minimal: mineral powder and mascara, neither of which make me feel gross if I'm sweaty. I don't have the skin to go anywhere without makeup.
I took a shower before going to the hospital with both girls (not to "clean", but as part of the whole process of staying calm and relaxed during labor) so I just reapplied my makeup afterward. It takes me 2 minutes tops
Definitely not me! I'll pull my hair up in a ponytail if it's long enough, and head in.
ETA: and I totally forgot to add in there that I'll shower first, then pull my hair up haha!I am planning on taking a shower and at least attempting to do something with my hair. Makeup wise I may jus put on eye liner and mascara im just not sure if I want foundation on while its hot but if its not too bad ill put a light layer on
With my other 2 I showered and got ready like it was a normal day. It helped to pass the time. I skipped eye makeup and just went with a light foundation and lip gloss. I plan to do the same this time.
I will also reapply my makeup before visitors come in.

I'm a Southern girl, and we aren't known for leaving the house to get the mail without makeup on!
I'll definitely shower, do my hair and put makeup on before heading to the hospital. I keep up with the shaving and all that normally, so I'm good to go there. My bags are packed and we're ready when she is.
THIS! I have a scheduled c/s though and I doubt I'll be up for doing anything afterwards for a while. I do have to be at the hospital at 5:30 a.m. though so make-up will not be full on. But, I also know that DH will post pics in FB and I don't want to be seen without being what I consider presentable for myself either!
