We got the Britax Diplomat for my 2002 Corolla. It fits great. We were considering the Roundabout, but went with this one because it's the same seat but with more cushioning. If you don't want to spend the extra money, I think the Roundabout would fit just the same.
I have a lexus IS 300....I will probably have to go and see if I can test a few seats out and see which one fits best. Just wanted some suggestions. Thanks
The roundabout is way more compact then the Graco! We have it and absolutely love it... however, my only problem w/ it is that it doesn't last long for my girls because they are both off the charts tall. DD1 outgrew it RF around 16/17 months, which is earlier then I wanted to keep her RF (the recommended 2 years). DD2 is even taller, so I'm sure she'll outgrow the length restrictions even sooner.
For FF, of course the limits are higher, but still not as high as I'd like them to be. I don't think my DD1 would fit at 4yo, which is what state law says they should be in a 5pt harness carseat. But, we did get a Britax Frontier85 (FF only since she's now past 2) to grow w/ her and that eventually turns into a booster seat, so she'll be in that probably until 1st grade or so...whatever the weight law is... (not sure what it is).
We also have a Marathon, which I thing is a really great seat and lasts much longer RF and FF. It is larger then the roundabout but it's not crazy large. RF is a tight fit in my car (Lexus RX) but I have a pretty small back seat! It fits, it's just tight for me sitting in the passenger seat (carseat is behind passenger) but I'm also pretty tall.
Basically, I think the Roundabout is an excellent seat, especially if you have a child who is average height. Just don't expect it to be the last carseat you'll ever buy.
