Who's taken this for a sinus infection? Usually it's perscribed for bacterial sinus infections. The doc did a house call today and said mine is most likely a viral infection but I could take the drug w/o a problem. The pharmacist, another pharmacist and a family member who's a doc said it's fine to take this even if the drug is meant for bacterial sinus infections and mine might be viral.
Just curious as to who has taken this in the past? I have heard it's pregnancy safe and truthfully the infection is likely more harmful for LO than the drug.
Re: Amoxicillan - who's taken it?
I took it at around 10 weeks for a UTI and everything was fine. It's definitely true that the infection is worse than the antibiotic so I would definitely take it if you need it. I asked the pharmacist again when I picked it up and she assured me it was safe. Good Luck!
I have taken it in the past (during this PG) and I am taking it right now! 500 mg 3x a day for the next 10 days. My entire family came down with strep (including me!) so the doc put me on antibiotics right away.

I had to take them in the past during this PG because they found group b strep in my urine twice.

Ironically enough, I've been taking it for the past 9 days for a wicked ear infection - take last 2 doses tomorrow. One of the doctors at the practice I go to prescribed it, so I assumed it was fine.

I took it around 28 weeks for a UTI. I was assured it was safe for my LO.
