Stay at Home Moms

DH Vent, just had to get it off my chest.

So, at 1:30am this morning I wake up with excruciating pain in my abdomen. I try everything to relieve the pain and finally call the doc at 2:30am.  DH has to work at 4am and gets up around 2:30am.  He's had some sick time issues at work (he has migraines but failed to fill out FMLA paperwork or tell anyone, so his sargent was getting mad- it just got cleared up this week).  I don't want him to get in trouble with work, so I tell him to go to work and I'll call him if I need him to come back home since he works less than 10 minutes away. When I woke up with DS at 6:30am, the pain wasn't as bad and I was finally able to relieve some pressure (we've been battling the flu for TWO weeks!).  I really didn't call DH home and DS was pretty good with playing with himself so I could just rest on the couch.  So I just let it go.  Still not 100% though.

Anyway, DH came home from work tonight, made himself dinner and took a bath, all the while I was still watching DS.  Not that he's much work, but he's been a bit clingy with being sick too.  Then, at 8pm, DH tells me he's heading to bed.  I wanted to scream!  He gets 12 hours of sitting on his butt at work (literally, he's pretty much a glorified babysitter), comes home and gets more time to himself?!?!  I understand he gets up at 2:30am to go to work, but come on!!!  We're going to have words in the morning.  I haven't showered in three days because I don't get the chance during the day, he gets mad when I relax on the couch until 10pm instead of coming to bed right after DS goes to sleep.  I'm at the end of my rope and I KNOW that not getting enough sleep (he claims he can't hear the monitor), not getting a break and being stressed is what is making me get sick all the time.  He hasn't gotten either bout of the flu that DS and I have gotten the past two weeks.

I just had to get that off my chest.  It's late and I don't have anyone to talk to right now!!

  • I'm sorry--the sleep deprivation really sucks, and it's even worse when you're sick.  Can you put your DS in his crib or an exersaucer by the bathroom door so you can at least shower?
