For the last 2 nights, the boys have gone for (relatively) long periods of time without waking. For example, last night they ate starting at 10.15pm, were asleep by 11.30pm and didn't wake until 3.45am (so 5.5 hours between feedings, and over 4 solid hours of sleep). Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the sleep lol, but is that an unusual amount in a single stretch for a 3-week-old?
Some sites say you should wake them up to eat every 3 hours regardless of whether they wake themselves,
others say to let them be...ugh! They're sleeping and eating in their regular pattern (every 2.75-3 hrs) during the rest of the day, still wetting/pooing diapers, etc., and not lethargic or anything so I'm assuming they're fine and I'm just being waaaay over concerned (and to think last week I was posting about them NOT sleeping lol!).
Of course, this will all probably change tonight and they won't sleep at all lol!
Re: stupid question...can a newborn sleep too much?
I woke him in the beginning when I was concerned about his weight gain. Now, during the day, I might wake him to eat if he sleeps insanely long, but at night, no way. He'll sleep 2-4 hours between nighttime feedings.
If your boys are doing well weight-wise and seem happy, I would enjoy the sleep while you've got it.
Don't wake a sleeping baby! LOL...
Lucky mommy...if they are both back up to their birth weight (or a "goal" weight set by your doc) and are having good diaper output, there's no reason to wake them. I would, however, get up and pump since you're still trying to establish your supply and prolactin levels peak between 2-6 a.m.

this is what I went on too. Maybe if the baby was lethargic or not eating during the day I would be concerned but that wasn't an issue for us.
Jack has always been a good sleeper/STTN since about 4 weeks old and before then his night sleep stretches got longer and longer - great that you might have TWO good sleepers on your hands, what are the odds of that?!
Ugh, you ladies are lucky. My pedi. told me I had to keep waking her up to eat, even after she had reached her birth weight. And she was an AWESOME sleeper back then.
By the time it was "OK" to let her STTN, she was used to waking to eat-- like I had trained her to wake up. Luckily she started STTN at around 8ish weeks.
(then it stopped once teething started and she got sick and whatnot)
