Re: Baby Carrier Poll
How many do/will you own?
We have three...
Which ones do you have? Bonus for PIP or link.
Two are identical since I made them...stretch jersey wrap carriers (like a Moby) and one structured soft carrier...a Scootababy that I got on eBay for $25!
Which is your fav and why?
I love to wrap and still use our DIY Moby with Libby even though she's about 16 lbs. now. Just last week I didn't froggy her legs, but let them hang out the bottom in a hug hold carry and she seemed to like it. I would love to get a woven wrap for summer and also because they are more supportive once baby is heavier, but they are $$$ so I have to find a good deal. I like the Vatanais, Gypsy Mama Bai Breeze Gauze, and BB Slen. This fall I hope to get a Storchenwiege.
We won't be able to use the Scootababy until Libby can open her legs far enough for a hip carry (probably this summer sometime) and I think J will use it more than me (if I can get a woven wrap). We also want to get an Ergo Sport for our travels in August and October.
When do you use your carrier(s)?
I use them when I am out and about (shopping, running errands, etc.), when we walk or dogs (so much easier than wrangling two leashes and a stroller) and around the house (to get things like laundry, vaccuuming, etc. done while Libby wants to be held). I'll also pop her in there is she's fussing and cranky...calms her down every time and she usually falls to sleep right away.
Does DH also use one with LO(s)?
He wrapped her a lot as a newborn...now not so much, but once we get the Ergo and/or she can fit into the Scootababy comfortably, I think he'll wear her more often than he does now.
Have you gotten any comments about wearing your baby (or planning to once he/she is here)?
Mostly positive...you don't see it a ton around here so people sometime follow us around the store, etc. and finally get some courage to either ask what it is or comment that she looks so happy/comfortable in it. I've only gotten one "negative" comment after that whole Infantino sling recall...obviously the women was misinformed directing her comment at me (as I carried Libby upright, wrapped in a hug hold) and I let her know it.

How many do/will you own?
I own three, but am going to sell two. Before I had Elyse I bought a sling (made by a momma where I live) and a Bjorn. It turns out Elle is quite an independent baby and HATES to be snuggled in so the sling doesn`t work for her. And I absolutely hate the bjorn, it really hurts my back. Like it hurts it to the point that it will spasm at night after I`ve worn it and Elyse only weighed about 10 pounds when we stopped using it.
I`ve since purchased the Baby Trekker. It is fan-freaking-tastic. I`m in love! Plus bonus for me, it`s made in Canada

When do you use your carrier(s)?
All the time. For walks, grocery shopping, vaccuming, washing windows. I found people would touch Elle if she was in her car seat in the cart when we were shopping, people don`t touch her if I`m wearing her.
Does DH also use one with LO(s)?
Yep - he`s never been so good looking as when he`s wearing Elyse! It seriously makes my heart melt!
Have you gotten any comments about wearing your baby (or planning to once he/she is here)?
Not really. I can tell out parents are a little disappointed when I wear her on walks because all the grandparents like to push her in the stroller. They`re quite sad that she can sit in the stroller without the car seat now because they can`t oogle her. She`s the first grandbaby

Which ones do you have? Ergo, moby, Sleeping Baby Productions linen ring sling, and a serena and lily pouch type carrier
Which is your fav and why? the ring sling. I like that it's adjustable, relatively quick to get on, and comfy. I have started using the ergo and I like that too. I just froggy Jack's legs right now.
When do you use your carrier(s)? all the time. We only have convertable car seats so I wear Jack for all errands, dinners out, etc. We go on walks and just this morning he was in the ring sling while I watered the garden.
Does DH also use one with LO(s)? not very often
Have you gotten any comments about wearing your baby (or planning to once he/she is here)? not too much. Some crazy old lady at target told me carrying him was dangerous - I explained why it wasn't and so then she had to have the last word and say that he didn't look comfy (hmmmm, that must be why he conks out every.single.time I put him in one). Other than that it's pretty much the norm around here to carry the baby in a carrier.
I have 2 -- Peanut Shell and Sleepy Wrap.
I loved the Peanut Shell when she was 2 months old and younger. It was easier to use, but she outgrew it and that's why I have the Sleepy Wrap. I usually use the SW when I'm grocery shopping b/c my oldest sits in the cart.
My H does not use any carrier.
No, no comments. Someone did tell me that they liked my "clothes" when I was wearing the SW without the baby in it. I thought that was hilarious!

Moby, Ergo, Bjorn and a Balboa sling. I bought the Moby and Balboa at 25% off and got the Ergo and Bjorn for $15 each on CL. Had to say that so I didn't sound too crazy since they can be so $$$...
Which is your fav and why?
Haven't tried the Ergo, Bjorn or the Balboa yet. But I love the Moby. It's sooo long and hard to put on in public b/c of that, but if I get it on before I go out, it's great. I love how comfy he looks and having him so close to me.When do you use your carrier(s)?
So far, just when I go out, which has been rare.
Does DH also use one with LO(s)?
He's intending to use the Bjorn.
Have you gotten any comments about wearing your baby (or planning to once he/she is here)?
No feedback, but yesterday when we were parking at the mall, we saw 2 other moms gearing up with their carriers (looked like Ergos). So it seems at least they'd approve!
How many do/will you own? 3 (just sold the Ergo I got from BabySteals)
Which ones do you have? Bonus for PIP or link. (Sorry, I can never make mine PIPs come out anything but red Xs!) Moby (https://www.amazon.com/Moby-Wrap-Original-Cotton-Carrier/dp/B000VZC4O4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1273861804&sr=8-1), Snugli (friend gave to me - similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/Evenflo-Snugli%C2%AE-Comfort-Vent-Carrier/dp/B0010WBPNI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1273861859&sr=1-1) and FP carrier (https://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Easy-on-Infant-Carrier-Black/dp/B000WUBL2E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1273861834&sr=1-1)
Which is your fav and why? Snugli is easiest to put on, but not for long uses. FP is better for that.
When do you use your carrier(s)? I keep the Snugli in the car - basically I use it if I couldn't fit the stroller in the truck due to other stuff, or if he's awake and I don't feel like using the stroller for a quick trip in somewhere.
Does DH also use one with LO(s)? He thinks they look silly.
Have you gotten any comments about wearing your baby (or planning to once he/she is here)? not really, just comments on how time consuming/"complicated" the Moby is to put on.

5! Yikes. I'm addicted.
Which ones do you have? Bonus for PIP or link. When do you use your carrier(s)?
This Peanut Shell sling, which I used for about the first month. She loved it but then she seemed too big for it and I was worried because she always buried her face when she was in it:
We have a Moby wrap, thanks to vanceandlori. We used it a TON, mostly at home, for when she was fussy and wouldn't nap otherwise:
We have a black Ergo, which we've used at home and for walks and hiking in HI. I love that it has the sun cover:
We have the Babyhawk in the print on the left. I love it because it's not bulky and it's comfy. And it's cute! I've used it for shopping and for a Hawaiian fair thing we went to here in Vegas.
And, finally, I have a Belle carrier in lavender. I got it for $35 (reg $100) on diaperswappers, thanks to Jaime. I love that it's not bulky and it's quick to put on/take off. And she can face out in it, which is the biggest difference from all the other carriers we have. I've used it for quick trips into the post office and shopping.
Which is your fav and why?
I'm not really sure but it's a toss up between the Babyhawk and the Belle. I love them both.
Does DH also use one with LO(s)?
B has used the Moby a lot at home and he wore her in the Ergo when we went hiking. I think he'll end up using the Ergo the most.
Have you gotten any comments about wearing your baby (or planning to once he/she is here)?
People mostly look and smile. One lady said she wishes they had them when her kids were babies.
Oh and if you ladies have questions about babywearing or certain baby carriers, I encourage you to post on the Attachment Parenting board:

Have you gotten any comments about wearing your baby (or planning to once he/she is here)? Just today someone said to me how much easier it is to wear baby as oposed to the stroller, etc. which we were waiting at the Dr.'s office.
Ekk..I have 7...I forgot about my Maya wrap.
