South Florida Babies

**Leanna*** (and other babies with diaper rashes/burns)

We've been seeing a lot at work (pediatric dermatology)...use OTC 1% hydrocortisone mixed with Clotrimazole (also OTC) 2x day all over, then use zinc oxide or Aquahpor with each diaper change. The hydrocortisone will take away the "burn" that the new Dry Max is causing, but studies show that within 24 hours, yeast colonates in the diaper area since it is a wet area, hence the clotrimazole. Hope she feels better soon!!

  • Thank you so much!!!

I feel so badly for her because it just looks painful.  I bought the 7th generation diapers yesterday and i'll use those until this clears up but I'm not going back to the pampers dry max!!! I have everything except the clotrimazole so I'll go out and get that this morning.

You're welcome! Organic diapers are better because they are not bleached (diapers are brown, like the organic ones, and since brown is ugly, LOL, they bleach them to a pretty white). I believe the FDA is investigating the Dry Max now from all the complaints!

  • They are investigating the dry max but Pampers is saying that there is no problem and diaper rash is normal!!

  • I've noticed that Matthew has a rash inside his little butt cheeks.  I'm wondering if this could be the diaper as well?  It started when we bought the dry max.

Usually contact dermatitis (i.e. burn from diapers) is all over..not just hte butt cheeks, but you can use the treatment I told Leanna...that's what we use for all diaper rashes, regardless of cause.

We've been using Seventh Generation diapers since having the second kid, and we like them a lot.  Hope they work for you, too.

  • Yesterday DD was doing pretty bad so I ran out to get Huggies and already I can see a huge difference today!  I am not a big fan of Huggies, so I will probably check out the other recs here, but most def seems like it was dry max causing the problem which really saddens me because I really loved Papmers for a while....

  • Thanks! I thought it was just my kid being sensitive to the pampers, but looks like it's pretty wide spread.

We bought the dry max this weekend and he's been wearing them the whole week without a problem. He's very sensitive so I am hoping he doesn't get a rash!
