3rd Trimester

s/o birth photography

If you are contemplating this do you have any reservations? DH said he's all for it, but he's afraid that I would be inhibited by a stranger. Also the birth center rooms are rather small, so much smaller than a typical US hospital. I just think it would be the BEST memory. Please post all pros and cons you can think of.

Re: s/o birth photography

  • i dont know if you have any other kids, but when I was giving birth I could give two shiits who was there. The janitor could;ve delivered him and I wouldnt have cared, I was that focused on having him and getting to meet him. In fact, many people walked in a out while my legs were wide open--nurses, docs etc and I didnt know until later....I just didnt care =)

I think its a great idea.

  • I would love to have this. From what everyone has told me you just really wont give a crap who is there when you are in labor.

I cant really think of any cons, but for us it was a cost thing. I would rather have really nice newborn photos than birth photos.

My mom will take some pictures while Im in labor and DH got a video camera that he is pretty excited about, so I will have that.

OMG this made me so happy- still LOLing! This is exactly how I felt. I had 2 friends, DH, Dr, and like a bajillion nurses. I could care less and I am so so so so so so so glad my friend took pictures. Granted she was behind the Dr so I have about 400 pics of my episiotomy and hoo haw but it is all worth it for the one picture of Dr holding her up in the light with the cord still attached and me crying in the background.

Do it. You can always delete the pictures but you can never create them.
