Those of you that had it done got the blood work with the US and then went again right?
Did any of you have completely different numbers one high risk and one low risk? What did they do if your numbers changed drastically between blood works?
I had the scan and my US was bad (a high level of fluid and they were basically telling me my baby was going to die). I'm not even sure what the blood test said (they never told me). They talked me into have a CVS test right then and there after the US. My results came back perfectly normal, so now they are really only worried about a potential heart problem (I'm going to have extra detailed US at 20 weeks and a fetal echo to check things out around 24 weeks).
I really don't put any clout into those NT scan's anymore based on all the research I have done and actually would not get one in my next pregnacy...too much stress for too many false positives. If you are really worried you should get a CVS test or an Amnio (depending how far along you are) to know for sure; however, you have to weigh if it's worth the miscarriage risk for those tests.
After the first round, they called me and told me my numbers, which were great. After the second round, they called me (today, as a matter of fact), and simply told me everything was nice and normal. They didn't give me any numbers this time. The lady sounded rushed and was hurrying to get off the phone. Maybe you'll have better luck.
Thanks guys, my numbers were like night and day from eachother so I am wondering if it was just a false positive. We go for our BIG us on Monday so hopefully the Peri will be able to answer more questions in person
My b/w at NT scan was great. My second draw for the quad screen came back with a 1:8 risk for Trisomy 18. This was very alarming based on my health/age at the time, 31. I ended up being one of the "false positives" and my baby girl is just fine. I will opt to NOT do the NT scan/quad screen next time around.

There is only one set of bloodwork that goes WITH the NT scan. The quad/tri screen bloodwork for 2nd tri isn't connected to the NT test. However, it's results can be used to SUPPORT the NT results.
I had bloodwork done with the NT scan and my numbers were very different. Before the testing my risk was assessed very high because of a previous Downs child. After the bloodwork and u/s it was much lower. The quad screen is just done sort of as a back up test to reiterate the results of the NT. The NT is much more reliable for detecting Downs than the quad screen alone.
