How long will they stay in it for? What hold do they prefer?
My parents are moving next weekend into their vacation home and need help. C isn't a fan of the stroller and the Baby Bjorn kills my back, so I was thinking of ordering an Ergo and using that so I can help a bit. I would also love to use it while going on walks, hikes, etc. but am a bit skeptical about C tolerating it for more than 30 minutes at a time.
Re: Does your LO love the Ergo?
how long does your LO tolerate the Bjorn?
DS likes it.. but ive been wearing him from the start...
personally.. i love it. i use the side carry position most now...so i can wear him, but he can see and we can interact together
I don't have an Ergo, but I have a Beco which is similar. DS isn't a fan of the stroller at all, but he will stay in the Beco for hours (and will often fall asleep in there. I haven't tried anything other than a front carry, but I think he'd like the back as well.
I also have an Angelpack which he likes just as well. It hurts my back, though.
Both DS and I love the Ergo. I have not tried the hip carry with it yet so I don't know about that carry but we both like the front and back carry. I only use the front carry for shorter uses and the back carry for longer ones. I would think that if you are going to use it to help move your parents then you would want your LO on your back.
I was really worried about buying one and not liking it. Then I found a store locally that had them so I was able to go in and try one on and fell in love with it. DS is about 20lbs and when he is in the Ergo he feels so light! I highly recommend the Ergo. I now keep it in my van for when I have to go into the store with DS as he doesn't like to sit in the cart.
This DS has been in my ergo since he was 4 months old, but he does not like being in it while I am doing household chores etc. The back hold is his favorite position.
I have one of my soft structured carriers for sale on Swap Spot right now. It's an Action Baby Carrier, very similar to the Ergo. It's in basically brand new condition, and would be a little less expensive than an Ergo. here's the link.
