To answer the IUD questions&update

IM SORRY TO POST AND IT BE IN ALL CAPS, BUT I AM USING MY LITTLE BROTHERS IPOD TOUCH THING. I HAD A PARAGUARD IUD INSERTED LAST OCTOBER. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ, IT IS 99.4% EFFECTIVE. I AM SO SORRY IF I CAUSED ANYONE TO PANIC ABOUT THEIR BIRTH CONTROL. I JUST DIDN'T REALIZE I WOULD END UP PREGNANT WHILE HAVING AN IUD. NOT IN MY WILDEST DREAMS. I JUST WANTED YOU GIRLS TO KNOW WHAT I DIDN'T. NOW FOR THE UPDATE: I CALLED MY HOPEFULLY NEW DOCTOR TODAY. I TOLD THEM EVERYTHING AND THE RECEPTIONIST TALKED WITH THE DOCTOR WHILE I WAS ON HOLD, AND THEY FEEL VERY CONFIDENT THAT IT IS IN MY UTERUS AND NOT MY TUBE. THAT WAS REASSURING, AND I KNOW THE ULTRASOUND THEY SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY WILL BE EVEN MORE SO. AGAIN SORRY FOR THE CAPS AND PANIC I MAY HAVE CAUSED. I APPRECIATE YOURS THOUGHTS, VIBES, AND WELL-WISHES.

    I am catching up on the posts from the last week and just read your story.  Wow...I can imagine how you must feel right now.

    One of my best friends recently found out she was pregnant and also had an IUD.  She is 8 weeks now and everything is well and where it should be.  I only tell you this in hopes that it will give you a little reassurance until Tuesday.

    No need to apologize, no panic caused here!  It's just shocking, because you always think you're "safe" even when they clearly tell you it's not 100% effective.  I'm glad it seems as though the babe is in the right place!

    I have Paragard too. And now I'm buying twin beds. Immediately.

    I (like Tara) would totally be one of those against-all-odds cases (especially since I totally have the baby rabies). Oy vey. I'm going to lay down-- in one of my twin beds...

    Glad to hear things are looking good so far!  Good luck & tons of vibes!

    The IUD thing makes me nervous.  It was an option I had considered for post baby time in between kids but now I'm rethinking that one.  I'm still keeping my options open (haven't even had the kid yet!) but I'll definitely keep this situation in mind.
