Minnesota Babies

Babymoon

Ladies,

I'd like to take a vacation before this baby comes (due in October)...a nice, RELAXING vacation, preferably with my husband. He has suggested the Boundary Waters and, while I like to camp and I love the outdoors, I'd much prefer a spa-type of retreat with a massage and a nice, hot shower.  :-)

 Any suggestions in the midwest?

I just love Bluefin Bay. Not sure if they have massages, but they do have heated outdoor pools, indoor pools, fireplaces in your room and amazing views.

    Duluth is always fun too.

  • We stayed at a B&B in Stillwater and did some shopping for a day.  Something like that would be fun and relaxing.  There are many B&Bs around MN.

  • I agree that going to the boundary waters wouldn't be my ideal babymoon. The North Shore would be great if you can get there before it's too cold. If you're thinking of doing something closer to your due date, then I'd probably go to Stillwater, Red Wing, Lake Pepin, etc. I don't have any specific recommendations though.

  • sundara spa for adults only in wisconsin dells (i am pretty sure that is the name).   a bed and breakfast somewhere--nice, quiet, relaxing-perhaps near a spa?    just going to a hotel with a spa would be relaxing.   i'd avoid the larger resorts in wis. dells--too many kids.    red wing area?    lake geneva area in wisconsin, green lake in wisconsin has a great resort in a small town--eastern side of the state-about an hour east of the dells,  stillwater for b and b and just relaxing town (but can be crowded for true relaxing)
  • I second BlueFin Bay!  they do have a spa... but they also have a lot of outdoor activities, so is the best of both.

DH and I will probably be going there mid-summer.

  • Our fav. is www.journeysinn.net. It's eco-friendly. Such a scenic country & lake side view drive up there. Mountain view on the property. The owners are wonderful!
