anyone experiment with castor oil??

so im 40.3 weeks ill be 41 on monday, my doc ordered a nst for next week and said we would go from there about inducing next week and i sooo would rather not be induced ive heard its so much more painfull that way, so weve been trying everything, sex, nipple stimulation, spicy foods, pineapple, and it seams like nothings working so i was debating castor oil??? any experiances with it???? did it work or not???

    I personally have no experience with it but I would never try it. From what I hear it just gives you really bad diarrhea. Plus, if it did work I would rather not be in labor with a bad case of the runs.

    This exactly. I head it can give you the runs and a bad stomach ache and that it doesn't always work. No thanks!

    ick, all of the above. I want this baby out, but not bad enough to put my body through that! I would not want to be in labor AND having those side effects.

    We have the same due date!! And I TOTALLY understand how you're feeling, but I've heard the same things. That it makes you feel miserable and it's not worth it. Hopefully LO will come soon!!!!! ::labor dust::

    My sister made a castor oil milkshake & six hours later her water broke. Six hours after that her daughter was born. She had no side effects what so ever. This was her first baby too and she gave birth at 39wks 6days. Good luck to you!

    My doctor told me to take during my first pregnancy. I did have some diarrhea, but nothing bad. I took it around 2pm and around 3am my water broke. (And I did not poop on the table)

    check with your doc, my doc suggested that i try it with dd and i did but it didnt work, i did have a bad case of the runs with it but didnt go into labor

    My midwife suggested this to me yesterday and all i could do was laugh.... I just cant imagine having a shot of castor oil...........
