For those who have Munire furniture...

What made you go with this? Originally I had thought I would either get JCPenney furniture, or even Graco Lauren with Ikea dresser, but I can't stop looking at the Munire. It is great quality (so I hear) and the furniture I buy is the furniture I want my child to have forever. I don't want to buy furniture down the road again. So if you have this furniture, please persuade me that the $2500 price tag is worth it!

For me it was between Munire and Pali, which is also just as expensive.  It's good quality, doesn't look like kiddy furniture, will last, the crib will turn into a full size bed and we could afford it.  That all sealed the deal.

I think with cheap furniture you get what you pay for.  Kids put furniture through the ringer!

Ask the store you're purchasing from if they'll give a multi-piece discount.  We got a discount for buying more than 3 pieces.

  • It's beautiful and it's high quality.  Unlike a lot of nursery furniture, Munire is built to last.  It will grow up with your child.
  • I ordered Munire Urban crib and drawers and I am happy I did. My friends have Munire and LOVE it. I agree with the other posters, that if you buy cheap, you get cheap, and I also want this furniture to last her thorugh her teens. buy something nice now and you won't have to worry later. Plus I ordered through Crib & teen City and they have a great reputation, who will come by if ever needed a repair, etc. I say go for it! :-)
  • Thanks for the responses. I think my heart is set on Munire. Now I just need to get DH on the same page :)

We bought the Munire Essex crib and dresser and it didn't cost that much. We got those 2 pieces and the mattress for about $1000

  • I'm not sure where you live in IL but there is a store, USA Baby in Brookfield, WI about an hour from the northern suburbs (glenview) that sells Munire and it was way cheaper than any furniture store I looked at in the Chicago area.   They will deliver to areas in IL and you don't have to pay tax and the delivery is comparable.    Check out there website for prices.
  • I love it. It is beautiful, high quality furniture. It does not look like nursery furniture and it will grow with her. This is the furniture she will have - I won't have to replace it.
  • We bought the Munire Tampa crib and combo. It's gorgeous quality and the style was just what we wanted -- I liked hte Deco even better, but they had the Tampa on clearance because it's discontinued. We got the crib, combo and conversion rails for 1000 with tax. If we'd had room we might have sprung for the armoire, too.

Honestly, after getting my hands on the Munire, I didn't want the cheap stuff. I wanted stuff that could grow.

  • We just ordered the Urban crib after a TON of research choose this because the quality seemed great, best reviews and was the design we were going for. I might have looked at the line they have for BRU but the similar version didn't come in white. I wasn't crazy about the corresponding dresser, and might go with something cheaper, we have another bedroom set that will serve as her big girl furniture so I am less concerned about the other pieces lasting forever.

I've just started looking for nursery furniture and I'm not sure what all you're buying, but the Muniere crib I saw was only ~$300!

We're trying to avoid furniture made in China and we want something that has a good quality and safety rating. Muniere had one recall a few years ago but that was for lead in a "rubbed black" finish that they no longer use.

  • The quality, and the face that it looks beautiful when you convert it into a bed.  Some cribs look awkward when you turn them into beds..lol
