We got DD a booster seat that straps to our dining chairs. A few nights ago she was pushing/kicking back from the table and knocked the chair over. DH was able to break her fall, but she still ended up on the ground.
Now DH insists she has to sit in a highchair because the other chair is not safe. I know a lot of people use these seats-- anyone else have this problem? Anything you did about it? We can tell her not to kick, but it basically means no one can get up from the table and we have to be "on-watch" the whole time she's eating.
Re: DD kicked over chair w/ booster while she was in it!
Yep, DD did that when she was around 18 months. One of the reasons I'm not a big fan of that type of seat (we have one of those and one of the ones that attaches/hangs from the table - we use that one on our island).
What we do and did was use the tray that comes with the chair. Then make sure DD (now DS) was/is far enough back that they can't push off against the table.
This!
DD is constantly pushing against the table and we are afraid she will fall over. We have a bar height table too. I will be using the tray now, since I know it actually does happen.
us too. we never had a high chair. I love the booster seat.
