eczema vs. baby acne: how to tell difference? what do they look like?

DD has some patches aroun her forehead and eyes that are bumpy. Kinda reddish and a little rough to the touch in places. They do look like little bumps and some look like pimples. A few whiteheads but only a couple.  Does this sound like eczema or baby acne?  How can I tell the difference between the two? Any experience w/ either???

    DS has eczema and it manifests itself in a very red rash-type form.  He gets it on his cheeks especially, but also on his back, and the skin is slightly raised and often very dry.  The skin on his back was very dry, but the skin on his cheeks was mostly just red.  DS' eczema never appeared as little bumps, though he's had those too.  I'd say if you're getting little bumps and pimples that it's probably baby acne.  If you're unsure, try rubbing a little cortisone cream on the bumps and see if it makes a difference.  If not, it's probably baby acne.

    sounds like it might be baby acne.  DS has a horrible case of it right now, i posted below and got a few responses.  there are lots of bumps and sometimes the whole area looks very red.

    That sounds like acne to me.  DD's eczema never included whiteheads.  It looked like a pink/red and sometimes scaly or oozy rash.  Not like pimples at all.
