When I was going through K's clothing, unpacking for Riley, I noticed A LOT of her clothes still had tags on them. ![]()
We really didn't receive all that many clothing gifts. Guess I MAY have went a little overboard buying clothes. Girl clothes are addicting so I have an excuse. ;P
Anyone else notice this as they packed away clothes?
Re: A baby clothes observation
Yes! Or I can tell if a onesie or outfit has not been worn when I pack them away because the buttons are still snapped and when I wash them I never re-snap.
Yep. I had a bunch that didn't fit them with the seasons. No one knew how big they'd be so I left all tags on and have been gifting some things at showers and returned a few other.
I think I had 30 outfits between NB and 3-6 that were never worn and still had tags.
I put away stuff he never wore. But I barely bought him anything, I still haven't. I think I've bought maybe 8 outfits since he's been born.
We got a ton of hand me downs from a friend at work, and then my mom, my MIL and my aunt-in-law went nuts.
My problem was I took the tags off everything right away, washed it all, and hung/folded it so it would be "ready" for DS. But then he didn't end up wearing 1/2 the NMS outfits that were gifts (in small sizes). The first couple months he wore onesies everyday. I never dressed him up...since those outfits weren't comfy.
I should have waited to de-tag everything when I was ready for him to wear it. Now I have lots of never worn outfits, without tags so I can't get as much out of them.
This. Some of the outfits make me really sad too because I really loved them but I couldn't put my kid in shorts during the winter. I had no idea how fast he'd grow. I've given a lot away to a good friend who has a younger son.
This! She was early, and a peanut to the max!, so many people got us outfits that ended up being too big during the warmer season.
Totally.
You should join thredUP if you're looking to get rid of some stuff!
I only have one baby, but I did put away a lot of clothes with tags too. I think for the longest time I was in denial that my son would actually fit in some of the larger clothes (that he was no longer a tiny newborn), so by the time I pulled them out for him to wear, some were too small, and some he only wore a couple of times.
