3rd Trimester

Describe your kicks to me!

Mine went from cute to taking my breathe away at times. Dr. says it's normal but how can someone that small hurt me so badly? I'm no whimp either.

Are yours feeling uncomfrotable as well?

Re: Describe your kicks to me!

  • Mine are more like rolls now.  I figured out it feels like the massage chair when you get a pedi and the massge roooollllllls on your back only this time its on my belly.  That was the best way I could describe it to H.

Oh but it doesn't hurt.  I've never had kicks that hurt though.

  • Mine are rolls that result in either a lopsided belly or a random foot sticking out the side for a few minutes.

  • Some of mine are pretty jarring, but not really painful - unless she gets a foot or arm or something jabbed into a bone.  For the most part, they aren't painful.  But yes, sometimes they startle me and take my breath away or make me jump because they're so intense.

This. that's what mine feel like.. never had a kick that hurt... she only sometimes kicks now. but she also stretches completely out when i lay on my left side!

  • I've had both rolls and kicks and sometimes they are uncomfortable enough to stop me from talking to my class.  This LO is strong and fiesty!

Awww! You can tell when she stretches out? That is soooo cool!

  • For the most part nothing he does hurts. But there certainly have been times that he'll catch me off guard and it will hurt but not super painful. It's just so weird. And of course IMPOSSIBLE to explain to someone how the INSIDE of you feels. We never knew until we got pregnant. I tried to liken it to skin that is never touched or agitated. Then all of a sudden it's always being touched, pushed, mangled.

I will say that although it's not comfortable ... it's hilarious ... but when he seems to be having a temper tantrum in there. Seriously ... times where his WHOLE body is moving all at once. From head to foot and my belly is jarring and stretching in LOTS of directions. Unfortuantely DH hasn't seen/felt one of those yet.

  • That's a good way of describing it, like he's having a temper tantrum in my belly.  Sometimes it feels like all of his arms and legs are kicking and hitting at once.  I sit here trying to get comfortable thinking what in the world is going on in there.  Sometimes I will get a very quick kick or punch that is so strong it makes me sit straight up in my chair.

The other night the baby was rolling around and my husband was feeling my belly.  Then all the sudden the baby kicked really hard.  My husband and I both jumped.  It was kind of funny and totally freaked my husband out.  He was like does that hurt.  It doesn't feel great but nothing I can't handle.

THIS! Exactly! I've been trying (& failing miserably) at explaining the latest movements of our LO.  Massage chair rolls; PERFECT description!

  • Mainly feels like knees and elbows sliding around now. I don't think he has enough room to kick anymore. But sometimes he takes his foot and just pushes against me and it can get a little uncomfortable. Its very cool to see though. At night I will cuddle up to DH back and let him feel the baby move against his back. Just a fun way for him to experience a little bit of it.
