Who else has had IF, but surprises for subsequent babies?

Seems like there are a few faces I recognize and somehow ended up on this board?!

We tried for 3+ years and ended up with IVF for DD. Then of course, surprise! What do you think happened? DId pregnancy just *fix* you?

I have no idea, but part of me suspects it was physiological (versus hormonal). I had uterine surgery when we were TTC for #1, but then ended up wdoing IVF. Now i wonder, once things were stretched once and my cervix was more open, maybe I'm a baby-factory now! (Though I'll never know-- we're done after this one!)

I fully believe pregnancy reset my body's hormones.

There was no denying my super poor ovarian response for IVF (FSH issues) and I've been pregnant 3 times since then without meds.

Me! It took 17 cycles w/ 4 iui's for our 1st and we lost it. Then 6 more treatment cycles for DS - 3 iui's and 3 IVF's. We tried for DS2 since 6 wk pp appointment and it only took 4 months, we are still shocked and so happy b/c we are oop.

Raises hand! DH and I went through 5 failed IUI's before conceiving via IVF. I have PCOS, a blocked tube and endo. DH has low morph. I conceived naturally when DD was 3 months old. I know for sure that being pregnant some how re-booted my body. The first time I ever ovulated on my own was a month after my daughter was born. I didn't really believe it was happening, but it sure did and I had 2 more regular cycles before I thought I was messed up again. Turns out I was pregnant! I'm not sure what will happen once more time passes after #2 is here, but I'm hoping that pregnancy helped "cure" my PCOS. Either way...I'll be using birth control after this one!

My issue wasn't specifically IF, but I had two miscarriages before having DS. (Some docs consider 2+ m/c to be IF.) Then surprise! Pregnant with DD 8 months later, no spotting or issues at all.

I weaned from BFing at 6 months, never got a pp AF and somehow got a BFP. We did 3 rounds of clomid and 2 IUIs to get DS, and we had poor morph, as well as a blocked tube. I have no idea what happened...clearly being pg didn't fix DH's morph - but maybe our real problem was something to do with me that was fixed by getting pg? We will never know!

We did 4 IUYI's and 1 IVF to get Kacey. I had high FSH. I cut nighttime nursing at 15 months and that was when I O'd. Felt really sick and awful adn was about to go to the doctor 2 months later, took a pg test just in case and wow! I never had pp af. Can't believe we won the lottery like this!

Me! 2+ years including 4 IUIs for my DD. We wern't even trying for this pregnancy (well I guess we were since we wern't preventing, we just didn't believe it could happen so we wern't careful). We were going to start trying this past January and I was sooooo dreading having to go through everything again I was actually loosing sleep. The best suprise ever!

Hi Trinny!!!! Congratulations!!

As you know I dealt with IF and have DD thanks to IVF...but this one was a surprise. With endo, sometimes pregnancy does "fix" you, and while my docs didn't really think that would be the case with me (nor did I), we were proven wrong!

it tool 2 IVF's & 2 FETs to get alex. we're dealing with MFI & 2 blocked tubes.

then, 1 month after i stopped BF'ing & got my period- BAM! i was in shock- still am. but so very thankful!

That's me!! We tried for almost 4 years to get pregnant and were finally successful with IVF and now have DD who is almost 1. Our fertility issues are male factor and even though I had heard about lucky success stories after IVF, I never thought that would be us because it doesn't seem like hubby's sperm would improve. But here we are

I am still in shock, I never had a late period before in my life until I got lucky with #2!

3 rounds of clomid (i have pcos) for DS. No pp AF and here comes DS 2! I will be getting an IUD this time though!

I did four rounds of IUI and finally got PG on the fourth try with DD. This one was a complete surprise; we weren't trying at all. One of my issues though was that my cervix was shaped like an S before DD, and my specialist told me it might straighten out after I delivered vaginally. So maybe it did; I don't know. i just think God works in mysterious ways that we will never understand!

Five years, 3 failed IUI's and finally IVF to get DS....then I quit BF'ing and got preg on my 2nd cycle naturally. I wouldn't have thought this could happen in a million years!
