2nd Trimester

Quick ? about cramps from a 13weeker

Hi ladies,

I'll be joining you Sat and I'm very excited.  I've had the normal cramping early on, but it stopped pretty much all together for the last few weeks.  Last night it started again.  Nothing horrible by any means, no AF or anything.  I was under the impression cramping stopped after the first tri.  I'm wondering if you all have found that to be true or if you still have some cramping.  I'm guessing LO is on a growth spurt.

Just curious.

tHanks!

I still get some mild cramping but it is less frequent. Things are stretching/growing. It's pretty normal. I get cramps if I stand up too fast.

  • It just started up again maybe once every two weeks for me, and I had it for pretty much all of week 5. I think it's just the uterus stretching again, no worries unless it gets worse or you have spotting!

  • I still have cramps.  I notice it more when I'm having a really active day or if I don't drink enough.  I think it's normal.  I understand your worries, as I don't remember any of this with DD.  I'm not spotting and it isn't painful, so I'm gonna ask my doc when I go in a few weeks.  Just remember to stay hydrated...I notice that helps!

  • I have been getting a lot of cramping kind of near my hips, I think it's RLP and stretching. I agree about staying hydrated. It's worse if I don't drink  a lot of water.

Def. bring it up at your next appointment, they always want to know about that kind of stuff. No need to call unless they are terribly bad or you are spotting.

  • For me the cramps are different but still there.  It is supposed to be your pelvic area stretching.  I told my DH last night that the sensation yesterday was like the baby had lodged a foot against my ribs and was trying to push them away as hard as possible.  Not a comfortable feeling.

  • I still have what feel like mild cramps. A lot of stretching and pulling sensations. It's normal, don't worry.
