When you get friend request from people you do not want to friend, do you ignore it or just leave it there. I have had family members ( 2nd cousins etc) friend me and I really don't want them in my business but I feel bad ignoring it. What do yo do? I have even ignored it and then they friend me again.

I friend them and then put them in my 'blacklist" of people who basically barely see anything on my profile including but not limited to status updates and pictures.

If it is a just someone I know, I deny them. If they keep asking, I block them so they can't see me at all.

If it's a relative, I add them, but put them on my Limited Profile list.

An in-law (who totally creeps me out) sent me multiple friend requests and I just kept hitting ignore. This in-law said something to another family member about it, so then I just left it in my friend request. I've been playing dumb for about 4 months now. This person is just too weird and I don't want them in my business.

I just ignore the request. It doesn't show up on their side that you ignored them, but it gets rid of the nagging friend request up at the top of your page.

I ran into a little issue a couple months back with a creep who is my friend's - husband's older brother.

Background...I've only been around this guy about 3 times in my life, one time he was hopped up on pills and drunk on whiskey and threw a lighter at my head after hitting on me all night in front of DH, "Wanna take this to the next level?" was a question he asked me while in the kitchen. Yeah...creep to the extreme. He also cheated on his wife one week before she gave birth at his brother's bachelor party in SF (my husband witnessed that go down) and he got the cops called at that wedding for groping women on the dance floor.

So I had him on my block list because he wanted to be my friend. I didn't want him having any access to me or my photos. Well this blows up in my face, I have my friend ask me about why I won't be friends with him...his wife (another loser) instant messaged me while drunk about a week later and wanted to know why I had him blocked and that he wanted to be my friend....I then block her because at that point it was getting weird. He then contacts my husband and thinks I'm being weird that I won't take him off my block list. AMAZING!!! My friend's husband (Creep's younger brother) thought I was overreacting and got upset at me for having his brother blocked., "he's harmless"

What planet am I living on???

I hit ignore and then click "people I don't know" or "report spam" if they keep requesting to be my friend.

ignore... they don't know if you ignore anyway, so it's the same as just "leaving it there"

I usually just leave it pending so they cannot keep requesting me and just think I'm not on ever and haven't seen it to confirm it

Well...I don't know if this is a blackberry facebook app mess up but when I added my FI's cousin, I was able to see limited stuff on her profile and she showed up on my friend's list as 'pending'

Then one day she wasn't on the list anymore and I couldn't see anything in her profile.

That pretty much told me she hit ignore. So if they aren't too computer savvy, I wouldn't worry about them finding out. If they are, they may not think to put everything together but just thought I'd throw that out there.

They can figure it out though, because it will no longer show as a pending request on their end. The button will pop up again for them to send another request.

LOL People on my Blacklist probably think I am the most boring person ever. They never see a status update or post or picture from me at all. They can't see any of my profile info. Just a blank wall. But they still have the honor of being my FB friend. LMAO
