  • I would not waste your money on nursing specific pajamas. I mean, if you're in your pajamas are you really going to be that worried about modesty? Through 2 kids, I have worn regular night gowns or tanks w/ bottoms and just pulled the strap down or lifted the top up as needed.

In fact, when I had #1 I ordered a bunch of nursing tops and they were a pain. I hated that they were so obviously nursing tops and often the 2nd layer made them bulky (and hot). I became much more comfortable just layering a nursing tank under a regular shirt.

I'm sure some people really like nursing clothes since they seem to sell plenty but I would definitely caution you against buying many. Buy some good tanks and maybe 1 shirt and see what you think. And definitely don't bother with pajamas.

but to answer where- Gap Maternity and Old Navy Maternity carry an occasional nursing top but the bigger selection is going to be online. Woman's Work is the best place for brick and mortar.

Every day clothes... I don't know anyone who wears nursing clothes, just tanks and bras under regular clothes.

  • I've found that for sleeping, the easiest (and least expensive) for me is just regular tanks with the built in shelf bra.  Old Navy had some this week 2 for $10.  The built in bra allows me to still wear the nursing pads to handle any leakage and its easy to just pull the strap down to feed in the middle of the night.

I got a couple of nursing tanks at Target for $15 each.  They arent double layer so they pretty much just look like the built in bra tanks but the bra part has big holes cut out.  Its very stripper looking on the under layer... haha.

During the day I just try to wear things that are easy to pull down/pull up or that button down the front, and then wear a nursing bra instead of a regular bra.   I got my nursing bra at the lactation store at the hospital so I am no help there.  Target has some but I didn't like any of them.
