bagel + cream cheese as finger food

How small do you have to cut it up to make it edible to a baby with no teeth? Like pea size?

I realize this is a ridiculous question. Humor me.

  • We have no teeth either....

I just take little pieces (about like a pea) and she loves it!

  • If I cut his bagel up, they're about 1 inch in size.  Sometimes I don't even do that and he just gnaws on it and bites pieces off.

ETA: Just re-read your post.  DS has teeth.  If he didn't, I'd probably still do the same though.

  • yeah, we do about pea size-so if she swallows it whole she won't choke

  • I guess I should clarify - E has four teeth, two top and two bottom. But without molars, it seems hard to chew thick things like bread.

One of the choices I have at day care for her breakfast is bagel & cream cheese, which is why I'm asking. I probably won't go to that kind of trouble at home, not to mention I think there are healthier options anyway :)

  • We did pea size for the pizza bagels and it worked nicely.
