Recommend your breast pump

A friend bought an Evenflo pump but was not able to use it so she gave it to me.  I have been doing some research & the reviews are not very good.  What brand would you recommend?  TIA

Re: Recommend your breast pump

  • The lactation consultant i saw said the medela or Ameda double electric are the best. I have a medela pump in style and the advanced and they are both good. Before I'd buy one for you, make sure breastfeeding is working for you and then buy one after baby is here. I also had a medela hand pump that I couldn't live without for nights I was engorged and I left my pump at work or for traveling

That would be a smart idea!  Thanks!

  • You could certainly try the Evenflo at the beginning to see if it might work for you, but I agree with Sarah- don't yet invest in a second one. Even if BFing doesn't work, you can still pump & worst-case-scenario, if your Evenflo goes out you could always temporarily rent a hospital grade pump until you invest in a new one.

My sis-in-law has the Medela PISA and she loves it.  I have the Lansinoh double electric and it was awesome for the 10+ mos used =)   Lansinoh is literally a re-branded Ameda...exact same pump but at a little cheaper price point (much cheaper than Medela). Their parts are all interchangable & I actually ordered Ameda parts because they had the car adapter for Ameda but not Lansinoh brand.
