not SAH related: freezing fresh veggies

i have a bunch of carrots, celery and a red pepper in the fridge, and we are going out of town tomorrow.  can i freeze them so that they don't go bad?  any special directions? thanks! Smile

  • I would just chop them up in a manner that you would usually use them and put them into some freezer storage bags.

  • Everything the other posters said and make sure that your produce is very dry when you freeze it.  Also, I have found that pyrex freezes things better than plastic bags.  I have not tried vacuum sealing things, but that probably works well too.

    Yes this. If you do use plastic bags - try to get as much air out as possible before freezing.
