Cleaning Services ?'s

Is having a maid come once a month really worth it?

Does anybody do this? How often does cleaning services come to your home?

    I'm starting to think 1x per month deep cleaning is not really what we want or need.  I'd be happy for someone to come in a few hours 1-2 x per week and take care of laundry, bottles, etc. just to free up my evenings a little, especially when #2 arrives!  My neighbor had good luck with care.com for finding someone for 8 hrs per week spread over 3 days.

    We have weekly now.  I might move up to twice/week when my twins get here.  I like my house clean and don't want to do any housework at all so it's definitely worth it to me and DH.  I spend all of my days off either hanging with my son or my DH and not cleaning or doing laundry - that alone is worth the cost.

    DO IT!!! OMG, best money I've ever spent on ANYTHING... ever.  Seriously, my husband and I don't argue as much, and I don't feel as bad about letting DD crawl around on the floor  (b/c we SURE weren't great about keeping it clean)Big Smile

    YES.  We have someone come in once every two weeks and it keeps me sane.  I only do spot cleaning, dishes, laundry that sort of stuff and I'm exhausted just trying to keep up with that.  Very worth it to me.

    If you are only going to do it once a month I would hire a private person or a service that gives you the same person each time.  We had Merry Maids bi-weekly a few years ago and at first it was great but then they started doing a terriable job, not cleaning the way they use to, not doing what they were suppose to do etc... sending a different person each time. I was there at the same time so I saw what they were doing and corrected them I would hate to think what would have happend if I was not there.  For example the girl was spaying stuff on my floor and wiping with a paper towl instead of cleaning the floor. I now have a private person once a week for what I paid the service and I am much happier.
