And not this is not for me heehee. One coworker (female) was telling a male coworker that he "had to" get his fiancee a wedding gift. He was shocked to hear this as he has never heard this before.
I got a lovely card right before I walked down the aisle that made me laugh and cry so I looked a bit of a hot mess when I finally got to him. I got him a nice watch. I was actually fine with not getting anything other than the card - in fact, in that moment, it was perfect.

We both knew about the tradition to exchange gifts. But we had to pay for our own wedding 100%, so financially, we just couldn't justify spending extra for gifts.

In a lot of the wedding photos I have seen, the bride is usually reading a card from the FI.
He's completely stressed out over it now lol. I told him not to worry too much about what she said (she also believes you are supposed to get a push present and it has to be jewelry). But I did mention that since she's getting ready in a hotel, if he did want to send something it could be like a fruit basket or a plate of cookies for all the girls with a nice card. She may not eat any of it but it makes for nice photos.
I did not expect anything, and I didn't get anything.
But I got him a photo album boudoir shoot of pics of me. Good thing too because two weeks after the honeymoon I was pregnant and I don't have that body anymore.

Exactly the same for us!
but I will add that HIS immediate family ... mom, dad, 2 brothers and sister didn't even bring a card
i didn't get a gift, but i did get him the new grill he wanted as a surprise.
he was at the alter when i got there - present enough for me!
seriously,
he bought me a great ring, planned a great proposal and the least i could
do is get him a nicer grill. after all, every night he grills is one
less i have to cook. it's the gift that keeps on giving.
we spurged on extras while on our honeymoon...we had talked about doing gifts but decided that the honeymoon trip was something we would enjoy a lot more...
I voted that he got me a gift and I was shocked that he did but I wouldn't say I was completely shocked as he is apt to do things like that. But it wasn't like a material gift. He wrote a song for me and played it in our hotel room after the reception.

Instead of gifts, we engraved a "secret" message on each other's rings. When we were alone in the limo on the way to the reception we looked at our rings. It was perfect - and cheap!
oh, you know i voted no but i completely forgot that dh had gotten me this slushy thing and had the planner give it to me because he knew i would forget to eat all day and be hungry before we got started. it was beyond sweet and thoughtful! reminded me why i was marrying him.

We didn't get each other gifts, though we did discuss it and decided against it. We decided that instead we would use our wedding money to buy US a gift.
I got a gift, and it was a total surprise. DH dropped off a Willow tree angel, with the sweetest note ever written on the box, along with a bagel and coffee from my favorite coffee shop, and knocked on my hotel door, then ran like crazy so he wouldn't see me. That's just one of the reasons I married him
We got married the day after my birthday, so i put SS because he got me a beautiful necklace but we couldnt figure out if it was a wedding present or a birthday one! lol

I put SS becuase I got him a gift, a pocket watch engraved with the word forever and the date as well as rock band. When we were getting ready to go to the rehearsal dinner, where I was going to give him the gifts he saw them in my car and freaked that he didnt' get me anything. I told him it was fine and I didnt' want anything but he said he felt dumb so we hurried up and wrapped my wedding jewelery which we had bought together sometime before. I know he felt bad but I really didn't care I don't give gifts to receive them. He had flowers sent to our house the next day as well.

DH built me my dollhouse that I got from Santa when I was eight years old. ?My dad took one look at it and said it was too difficult to build so it stayed in the box for years. ?It took him ten months to build, paint, wallpaper and carpet. ?Its beautiful. ?I got him a card.
ETA: ?He got me a dozen roses and a beautiful card too. ?

7/2012 150mg of Gonal-f + trigger + IUI = BFN
8/2012 Surprise unmedicated BFP!! Due May 8, 2013
DH got me a painting of two cherubs kissing. I LOVE it. He also got me a point and shoot camera, but that was kind of for both of us. We were going to buy it on our honeymoon but he wanted me to have it to take pictures at the rehearsal dinner so he gave it to me the night before.
I got DH a painting. We were married in Italy, and a few days before the wedding, my mom and I were buying groceries in the town, and I saw the painting hanging in a deli and loved it. It was an oil of the Ligurian coast. The owner told me that his grandfather painted it in the 50's. It wasn't for sale, but he changed his mind when I told him I was getting married that week, and almost forced it on me! Afterwards, he brought out some wine and salami and we drank to my married bliss. DH loves it, it hangs in our kitchen, and it always reminds me of that sweet old Italian man.
DH got me some diamond and pearl drop earrings that I wore on my wedding day. He picked them out, but I dropped some hints!
Re: Wedding related question: Did you get a wedding gift?
Here is my gift to you.
(Honestly I searched for wedding gift from husband to wife and this was one of the things... I was actually going to do a serious PIP).
ElOhEl
What makes you think I don't have that already?
I don't but dang at least pretend.
