Wow, 4 weeks ago I lost a pound instead of gaining & today I have gained 8 pounds in 4 weeks. My doctor is not concerned because I have only gained a total of 14 pounds. I still wanted to cry. I know I am going to gain weight but I sure did not expect 8 pounds in 4 weeks.
I measured 26 weeks today. I go back in 4 weeks & they are going to do a growth ultrasound. If I am still measuring ahead, she will probably change my due date. Has anyone else measured this far ahead & what was the outcome?
Re: Holy Weight Gain/Measurement Question
I want to say don't worry about the weight gain but I know how you feel and hearing that wouldn't have made me feel any better. I gained 17lbs in the last four weeks of my pregnancy...I had only gained 8lbs total before that but still I was in shock over 17lbs!
I don't have any helpful advice on the measuring ahead...I always measured right on time. Hopefully someone else has some experience with that

Wow, 10 pounds. I am expecting a big baby because I weighed 7 pounds 14 oz & DH weighed 9 pounds.
I'm going through both of these issues right now. The weight gain has gotten me really down. However, I try to stay positive and focused on the outcome, the bad (being the weight gain) with the good (a baby). I'm already getting a plan together to drop the weight after the baby is born.
I went to the Dr. this morning and I'm measuring 4 weeks ahead. I was shocked b/c 3 weeks ago, I was measuring 2 weeks ahead and now he's jumped another 2 weeks. He's also breach at this moment and has been since the beginning. I go back on 5/25 for a growth ultrasound. She said that if baby continues to grow and stays breach that a c-section will be my method of delivery, however right now there just going to watch his progress and decide later on down the line. I'm going every 2 weeks so they're keeping a constant eye on his growth and weight.
As of my 26w appt., I'm up 23 lbs. I'm doing my best not to worry about it. I had DH take the scale out of the bathroom so I don't weigh myself at home anymore. I keep trying to remind myself that the weight is only temporary, and as long as I'm healthy and my doc is okay with it, I can't worry myself.
I'm only measuring a week ahead, but my dr. has already mentioned a growth u/s for 32 weeks since she is breech.
I was 7 lbs 13 oz, DH was 8 lbs 15 oz, and DD was only 7 lbs 9 oz...smaller than both of us!
My mom had big babies..my brother was 9lbs4oz and I was 8lbs14oz's. I can't really count what Wes was because he was a twin and also was born at 26 weeks so he was only 2lbs3ozs but his little brother (not the twin) was 8lbs14oz so his mom had a big baby as well, so I was totally expecting Aubrey to be a big baby.
She was only 7lbs14ozs(and she was born at40weeks and 1 day)...which isn't teeny but it's not big either...in fact I was amazed at how tiny she appeared when she was born...especially now when I look back at pictures lol.
The most I measured ahead was about 10 days I think...they didn't seriously consider changing the due date until it was consistently >2wks {I think??? gosh it's been so long I think that's the # for our OB/GYN}.
Oh & just as a point of reference, I gained 56 lbs but DS was only 6 lbs 12 oz. The other 50lbs was just me! And if it's any consolation at all, I got back to my pre-preg weight around 9mos.
