Houston Babies

sooo... have i been living under a rock? re: BPA?

first of all, I don't even know what BPA is. but I've read on several posts things that make me think that the bottles I used for DS are not "safe" for DD?

Ummm... we sterilized them all and even have new nipples... but did I miss something? Am I suppose to throw them all away? Maybe this was a big deal within the last 2 years but since DS was out of bottles and I wasn't pg, I didn't pay attention.

I've actually given DD about 5-6 bottles (in the past 2 months) using the old bottles.... please fill me in!

  • I think that you can exchange them at babies r us for the BPA free ones, but i am not sure.  but i thought i rememebered someone saying they did this.  you can always call and see if they will exchange them.

it's more of an issue for boys than girls as i understand it but one of the "effects" is thought to be premature puberty. if it's convenient for you, i would switch but if you are primarily nursing just don't heat the milk in the BPA bottles and you should be ok.

good to know!  I went ahead and bought some new Dr. Browns just for peace of mind.

BTW, I called BRU closest to me and they're not exchanging them anymore.
