Babies: 9 - 12 Months

"the test" results

I wrote a post 2 days ago explaining I might be pregnant again. Well I am according to a urine test. Just wanted to let you all know! DH and I are still in shock because DS is still soo new.

I started telling family and friends today, tommorow I have lunch with mom (she is gonna freak out in a good way).

With DS I waited until week 10 to tell everyone we were pregnant but with #2 I just feel its safe to tell everyone.

If you are planning on having another baby would you wait a few weeks or just tell everyone???

Re: "the test" results

  • I waited til after I was out of the first trimester to tell everyone with DD. I will do the same next time I am pregnant.

  • DH wanted to wait til DD was 18 y/o to tell everyone since her knew MIL would nag...I thought that was pushing it though. Congrats to you! I forgot to say that in my first post :)
  • I don't know.  With Max we told everyone as soon as we had it confirmed at the Dr.'s office.  But, I was super sick, so I had to tell work or I couldn't have continued to function there, and then if my coworkers all knew, then we really should tell our parents.

Also, I'm not good at delayed gratification, so I don't think I'd want to wait anyway.

  • Congrats!  We told our parents right away but waited to tell extended family once the first trimester was over.

  • I'm waiting till 2nd tri, simply cuz I don't want to put up with the lectures on how we "should have waited" from our parents.... ugh!

    Congrats on your pregnancy! Smile

  • I was only 5 weeks when we told our families. For the next one I would like to wait until 13 weeks.

  • We told our families after our first OB appt (8 weeks) just so we knew that the heartbeat was strong, etc.  We'll probably do the same with the next one.
  • congrats!

we told our parents right away and sisters after we saw the hbs (6 weeks)..everyone else at 13 weeks....I had a m/c the first time we were pregnant at 9 weeks...luckily we had only told immediate family...untelling all of our friends/extended family would have been too much...but I needed the support of my family, so I was glad they knew...I am a paranoid person...so if we try for a third I won't tell anywell til after the first trimester again...

I had a very early m/c first time around so we didn't tell anyone about DS until after we saw the heartbeat at our 1st appt (around 10 weeks).  Next time around, I think I'll wait until I have to tell so like whenever I start showing.

  • I waited until I was in my 2nd tri to tell everyone about LO. But I've had a m/c and experienced how things can go wrong even when you think it's all fine. My first pg ended at 12 weeks after I told everyone and thought it was fine, and I didn't want to have to go through explaining it to people if it happened again.

I would do whatever you feel comfortable with, congrats!

  • I will always wait.

ETA: we told immediate family right away the first time - might do that again.  Congrats though!  It is so funny to me to see all these people getting pregnant with LOs close to my DS's age (here and friends IRL) b/c I am still BFing and haven't gotten my period yet!  So it's like not even a possibility for me yet.

We told immediate family at about 5 weeks - if something had happened (i.e. miscarriage), I would want them to know, anyways.

We waited until I was about 10 weeks along and had 2 ultrasounds to tell friends, and about 14 weeks to tell co-workers/boss/rest of world.

  • I would tell immediate family and close friends right away. If something happened, they would know something was up anyway. But that is me.

  • We will wait about 2 months again.  You never know...each time is different.

  • Congrats!

I told family and friends at 6 weeks and waited until 2nd trimester to tell everyone else. I didn't even tell work until I looked to big to deny it (18 weeks). I'm a worrier though.
