Sounds like our X's are very similar-what is yours in jail for again?  If you don't feel comfortable answering on the board just PM me.  I am curious because mine recently got put on probation for three years but the paperwork says it was a felony.  Seems like he got off pretty easily!  And again, reason number 9,999 why I am ecstatic that I got out when I did!

My step brother committed a felony (he sold heroin to a cop - d'oh!) and didn't even get charged with the felony and only has a year on probation. Sometimes it seems like the consequences don't come close to fitting the crime.

Ugh-that's so annoying.  I blame it on the jails being overcrowded too.  But this isn't STBXH's first run-in with the law-I guess that's why I am surprised he got off so easily.  I would think that he'd be facing his third strike soon.  I am really frustrated because I want to know more details about what he did but basically I just got the clerk's scratch notes which are confusing.  I do know that it was most likely meth, probably not just a small amount since it's a felony, and he has three years probation and has to make contact with a rehab place....$1 million says he never does THAT!

  • I'm actually really comfortable talking about it.  It is what it is, right?  (oh, and FYI- it's an L, not an i, but that's ok.  my fault for typing in lowercase.)  He is currently in jail awaiting trial for date raping our downstairs neighbor who moved in 2 weeks before the incident at his tax business office (side work).  He admitted to everything but it all comes down to wether or not there was consent.  She was so drunk (or possibly he drugged her) that she was not in the right state of mind to give consent.  He is charged with 3 felonys and one misdemenor (pot posession, they found it when the searched our condo).  He also has a prior record of felony stalking of an ex, disorderly conduct and battery as a kid.  He's a prize. . .  If I do my job correctly, DS will be the first one with that last name in the family to NOT go to jail (oh yeah, auntie and grandpa have both been there for extended stays).  I hope he goes to prison for-ev-er.

Ugh....I hope he does too!  What a complete and total creep!  Glad that he is in jail because then DS does not have to be around him.

My STBXH hasn't done something like that (that I know of but I wouldn't put anything past him anymore).  But I am still hoping that he winds up getting in trouble with the law because of all of his illegal activities.  He's living on the edge and no one can sustain a lifestyle like that for long.  For P's sake I think (at least until he is off drugs) it would honestly be best if he had little to no contact with him.

  • Adam is a much happier kid now that we are not together but I do think he has some anxiety due to all the fighting before we split. He is very shy around other kids and we are going to start working with a developmental therapist to get his social skills back on track.  Each of Captain Incarcerated's felony charges carries 6-20 years in prison and the trial date keeps being moved back so I get the feeling that he wants to do as much time in jail as he can so he doesn't have to go to prison (even though he told me prison wouldn't be so bad because you get to go outside and stuff. . .moron)
