I have never trusted brands that don't give a weight range for their size. I know all kids of the same age obviously are not the same size. But if a 3 month outfit says on the tag that it fits 10-14 pounds, doesn't it seem logical that it should fit my 11 pound baby? Well, it doesn't. I just don't get it.

Re: What's up with baby clothing sizes?
I think it depends on how long your LO is. Didn't you say Miller's tall? That's probably it. That and sizing for most brands is totally screwy.
My Blog

I think you are right about the length thing. That seems to be our issue.
Oh! What about those onesie extender things (if you are referring to onesies, that is). I've seen people talk about them but never tried them. Apparently they work well for taller babies.
The people who size baby clothes also do women's jeans.
It's a conspiracy to make us all insane on multiple levels.
Maybe they do bathing suits too?
Dunno - Ada is all over the place.I have a pretty good idea now of what will and won't fit her. If in doubt, I go larger figuring that she'll wear it someday.
Actually, I find that Miniwear runs very small, I had to buy 24 month and I usually buy 18. I think Carters runs bigger.
Same here! I think Carters runs bigger, too. I got the Miniwear for the first time (18 month onesies for my nearly 9 month old) and they are SNUG!
Strangely, even though Aaron is pretty big, he's only the 1 size up for his age. As in when he was 6-9 months, he was wearing 12 month clothing. Now at nearly 9 months, he's almost in 18 month stuff (but they're too big... it depends).

haha it's funny how everyone's opinions vary on the sizing as well! : )
Carters is really the only brand that I find to be true to size for Sabrina. We also like Gap and ON clothes. Gerbers is INSANELY small and should just stick to making damn baby food IMO; Children's Place clothes run small, too.

No kidding. I don't even bother with their clothes anymore.
I think a lot of it depends on the wy your baby is proportioned too. C is very long, yet still easily fits into a 0-3 Carter's onsies. Her length is in her legs so she grows out of sleepers very quickly and is about to move into 6-9 month for those.
LOL That is too funny! Because I refuse to buy Carters clothes now because they are more expensive, run small, and H is out of them in 2 months time. Oh well. Two each is own. Ya know maybe it is a shrinkage thing?
I concur with the Gerber being small.
In regards to everything else, it's so hard for me to judge other brands because Laney is right at the 50th percentile for height/weight but we have hand me downs (and hand me downs of hand me downs) so I don't know how much of a factor shrinkage is.
LMAO!!! This exactly!!!
So funny - we got a bunch that were gently used before Ada was born and they were quickly swept into out onesie roster. I LOVED them - so soft and the cotton is the perfect weight. I'm sad she doesn't fit into them anymore. I also love their footie pajamas.
I think it's like women's jeans. I might be an 8 in my Lucky's, but squishing my gut into size 8 Levi's just won't happen.
Margaux has a belly like her momma, so once I find something that fits her I stock up.
ETA - I just saw that I am not the first to notice the correlation. I am such a copycat!
