Those of you pregnant again...question

I was curious since some of you may be going through this.  How are you dealing with the morning sickness and fatigue...while taking care of your LO?  I am planning on ttc soon, and I was soooo sick with my daughter...just wanted to know how all of you are doing it ?  My mom had 2 under 1 at 43 years old...and she said she kind of just threw up and kept moving :)

    I'm not going to be any help.  But, I am interested in seeing what everyone says!  We want to have another soon too!

    I have a 4 yr. old and a 14 mo. old and I'm almost 2 mo pregnant. It's not easy being sick and doing things! Sometimes I set up toys in my room so I can rest in bed while the kids play together. I also learned that DVD's are our friends during the really rough patches of the day. Something that is particularly important is staying one step ahead. For example, I know I'll be queasy really quickly and that I need to eat every 2 hours or I'm no good to anyone. No matter where we are I bring something to eat. We also have quiet time during the day when I am the most sleepy. DS looks at books and DD just kind of hangs out with her stuffed animals on the floor. It's not easy but its manageable!

    I was sooo sick this time around.  You just have to push through it.  I didn't have any m/s with my first so it was unexpected and awful this time.  Even though I felt like crap in the beginning I would still come home from work and want to spend time with DD.  I would go throw up and then come back and play.  I would put her to bed at 8 and go straight to bed myself.  Typically it only lasts through the first tri so I had an "end in sight" which made everything better.  Once I hit the 12 week mark, I have felt great.  It only lasts for a few weeks/months and you just have to adapt and make it work.

    I did have 2 under 2.  I go pg with #2 when #1 turned 1.  I basically did like your mom.  I hurled and kept on going.  I spent many mornings over a garbage can.  DS1 would imitate me and he started spitting in garbage cans.  Now we are TTC #3 but DH stays home now so I will have help if it happens.

    I have puked in my kitchen sink more times then I can count. I try & pick activities that I know will keep me off of my feet & make sure that I drink lots of water. I have been working with DD on all kids of crafts at our kitchen table. But 90% of my time I'm up on my feet doing something around our house. I do just what your mother did puke & keep on moving. Its the only way to do it.

    I got pregnant very quickly so DD wasn't mobile yet, which I think helped.  I just threw up and kept going!  While I was going through it I thought I was going to die but looking back I think I managed pretty well.

    I'm not pregnant myself, but one of my friends was really sick with her #3...and once a week she would get a babysitter for the evening so she could puke alone (he husband travels a lot for work)...during the day she just powered through...good luck!

    It was really tough but its not the end of the world. I used the PnP a lot. I had it set up in the living room so while I was running to the bathroom I would pick DD up on the way and drop her off in the PnP. DD is very independent player so I could set up toys on the floor and just lay on the sofa watching her play.

    I have the type of morning sickness where I'm ALWAYS nauseous, but never puke, and just wish I could get it over with already... and I'm always hungry, which doesn't help. I just try to keep going, and when I feel too exhausted, let the baby play in the jumperoo/exersaucer/superseat or give her to my mom or hubby to watch for a while.

    I got lucky with this second pregnancy and had very little morning sickness and no throwing up.  I didn't even know I was pregnant until I was 8 weeks, and that's because I finally gave in and tested after missing a period (on the pill).  I didn't throw up until 24 weeks. 

     

    Luckily DD is pretty independent, so if I am feeling really crummy, I let her play on the floor and lay there with her.  If I'm throwing up for whatever reason, I put her in her pack n play, throw up, and then come back and play.  You make do.  Good luck!

    The morning sickness wasn't as bad for me as the tiredness.  I pretty much slept whenever I could - during his naps, as soon as my husband got home from work, etc  It's pretty rough.  But you make it through.
