I'm high risk, on HBP meds & our big u/s showed a low lying placenta. I had a growth u/s to check LO's size & placenta placement at 29 weeks. The placenta was still quite low so I'm having another u/s sometime around 34-36 weeks. I don't think that growth u/s are standard though.

Due to Gestational Diabetes and meauring ahead. They are looking to induce me early because of size and possible placental breakdown (I guess it can be much earlier with GD patients) but I am favorable for a good induction (fingertip dialated last wed)
I think they call ultrasounds the name growth scans when they are just checking the growth of the baby for whatever reason. So it could be any time. Mine with my first was done at 40 weeks to check and make sure he was indeed ready for induction. Saw there that I had low amniotic fluid. So this time around, they did one at 30 weeks. I think they called it just ultrasound then. Having one tomorrow to check for position (he was breech at 30 weeks), size (had to have one 2 weeks ago because of an infection and while he had turned he was measuring big), and for fluid.
My doctors had to send me to another office for mine and they only do it if they have some reason to believe there is a problem. I had mine done at 31wks5d because they were worried about my weight gain.

I had one today at 30w for an anterior and low lying placenta. I am a repeat c so they want to map it to make sure they know where to make the incisions. It isn't otherwise a problem so I am just happy to see the baby again in a few weeks!
This isn't something that my OB's office does unless needed. I've been measuring large and that is the reason for the u/s. The first one was at 26w, the second at 32w and the most recent was at 36w. I suppose I'll get one more before her grand debut. She's a big girl
I'm having mine at 34 weeks, my doctor usually schedules them between 34 and 36 weeks. My doctor does a routine growth u/s at this time and then the only reason I will have another one would be if I go past my due date.
My first growth u/s was at 29 weeks - they were checking to make sure my placenta had moved up (I was previa at the 20 week u/s). My next u/s will be at 35 weeks because my fundal height is measuring 4 weeks ahead.

My doc doesn't do then unless there's a problem.
I had one at 31w b/c I was measuring 3 weeks ahead (baby weighed 5lbs 3oz and was 95%tile.)
I had a second one at 35w b/c I was measuring 5 weeks ahead (baby weighed 8lbs and was 100%tile.)
