Newbie with questions about testing????

So I've been charting for a couple of months now....I had my period 4/5-4/9 so it puts my O at or around the 17-18th we made sure to have lots of practice on our honeymoon (we got married on 4/10) and now I'm officially 5 days late. In 20 years I have never been late, however I've taken several HPT and they all say negative....when should I make a doctor's appt? Thanks for helping out a slightly frustrated newbie

You probably ovulated late, which can be brought on by high stress (i.e. wedding). Since you are not charting, you have no idea when you actually ovulated.

If the HPT's are negative, then you are not pregnant. No need to make an appointment.

If you get to 60 days with no period, then you should call your doctor.

ETA: And by "charting" I do not mean counting 14 days from your period. I mean taking your temps, charting CM, etc. Sign up for fertility friend by clicking on the chart in my siggy. You can thank me later.

Do you have a chart we could look at? I am guessing that you ovulated later than you thought.

Several things can make your period come late. Did you recently come off BCP? If so, your body may not have regulated yet. Are you using FMU for your HPT's? I think 5 days late may be too early for a doctor's visit. GL

The rule of thumb is test once a week or until AF shows up. ?No +HPT or no AF in 60 days - call the doctor!?

If you say you have been charting several months, then how come you have a bump ticker? Are you not using FertilityFriend??

I would give it a few days before testing again. I am never late either, but our first cycle TTC I was late. AF was just messing with me.

Basing off CM alone is tricky because most women get fertile CM a various times during the month. I am going to stick with you ovulated later due to all the stress around your wedding etc. Good luck to you.

As a side note - my longest cycle ever was the cycle I got married. I didnt ovulate until day 20 and had a 33 day cycle when I usually ovulate between days 11-13 and have a 24-26 day cycle. The stress of your wedding/honeymoon can delay ovulation.Everyone gave you amazing advice. GL
